I know this obviously depends on the amount of people that you are having at your wedding, but I wanted to get an average or find out where you realistically draw the line about who to invite.
My mom asked me to make a list and I have about 90 women. IMO that is too many to have an intimate affair, but how do you decide who to invite and who not to invite?

My wedding list is 250. But of course i am not inviting every female- I think my list was around 75. That's with out inviting my dads side and my work friends

I only invited my female family members and about 10 friends, oh and my mom invited her friends. And my FMIL had about 25 to add to the list. The total list came to 75 and we are inviting 240 to our wedding.

Yeah our guest list is over 200 people. We both have big families and lots of friends, so it is like 'who doesn't have to be invited' ya know? Where do we draw the line?

I am also having a hard time with the list. Well not my list but FMIL list. She's like ' well she is like family, so we have to invite her' HAVE TO? WTH? Who's bridal shower is this AND who's mother is paying for it? ARGH!!!
Sorry had to complain. Guest list is about 190 for wedding, shower is looking at 48! That is too many, especially since my mom is paying, and FMIL did not offer any assistance other than finding the place to throw the party. I am inviting my female relatives that I am close to, and friends. None of this ' well I have to invite this one because of that one' FMIL wants to inviting her closest family and friends. I understand family, but her friends are not my friends. FH says I am absolutely right and I don't have to invite them.

FMIL doesnt have any family so mostly her friends are invited- She actually offered to pay for them but I am pretty sure my mom told her no thank you. It's only like 6 people. I can't complain about thenumber of people. our guest list is 250 and maybeeee 30 are from his list

I don't think 48 in unreasonable, but I think 90 is kinda crazy.
We're inviting close friends and family on my side, no one from work, and then people FH is close to personally... not FMIL's friend from work from 20 years ago who happens to be invited to the wedding, who I've enver met and FH hasn't seen in 10 years.
