That's a tough one. I kept it to women I was closer with out of the guest list for the wedding. For example, some of my FH friends I only met once or twice so I left their wives off the shower list.
Since my lil sisters are paying for it, I've only invited the girls from my bridal party, close gfs/family, and FMIL/FSIL. It comes out to about 30 girls max, and those are pretty much the only people I'd really like there. I don't think theres any rules on who you should invite, but maybe base it on budget, and who want there. :)
I narrowed mine down to 50 close family and friends only
Our wedding guest list is 264 - my family is HUGE. My shower guest list was around 100, I only put on there FH/my immediate family and very close friends. I would like to it have been a little smaller, but I couldn't cut anyone else out without there being hard feelings.
I only invited our family and my friends..most people I know don't invite everyone invited to wedding, but I'm also planning my friends bridal shower and she seems to be inviting everyone that's invited to wedding..it can go either way, but I think if your bridal party is paying for it , it seems nice to narrow it down so there expenses aren't too high
My invite list is close to 60 but some are from out of town so I believe it will end up being smaller. I kept it to Family and close friends, I did not invite co-workers or FH's friends spouses. For FHs family only Ladies I've met were invited, I just thought it's weird to invite a cousin of his from California I've never met to come buy me a toaster lol.
My shower guest list is about 75… most woman who are invited to the wedding - a lot of out of towners who won't come!! Ahh JULY Brides our showers can be coming any month now
we have like 280 invited to the wedding and about 80 invited to the shower- cousins, aunts, friends, and close family friends are invited... my extended family isn't invited, and neither are my FH's friend's spouses. I know them well, but not well enough to invite them to the shower

I wanted to keep it small and personal, but FMIL and my mom want to invite their friends to the shower. So looks like about 50 on guest list
Thanks ladies. I discussed it with my FW and she says we should invited everyone invited to the wedding. That out of towners most likely won't come, but everyone else should make it. That doesn't sound right to me. I guess we'll see when we send out invites. We're throwing it ourselves - so I guess it can be who ever we want. ::shrugs:: we shall see

My mom & FSIL are doing the planning..We are keeping it under 50..mainly my bridal party, close friends and family..not inviting everyone from my wedding list
Think mine is at 75
I got my Matron of Honor involved in the discussion and she's with me on making it a smaller event - and then she yelled at me for trying to plan it. Anywho - hopefully we can have no more than 40-50 guests. I'll keep you ladies posted. Thanks for the input.
