My mother put together this one game of how you have to unscramble words that are wedding related. Such as get bridesmaid from rdidmsbiae. Everyone loved this one and I would say it was my favorite. Another thing I wish my mom did that I saw a lot of people are doing now is having the people wrap the gifts in a clear wrap so you don't have to spend all day opening gifts.

We played a game where you used toilet paper to make a wedding gown. Pick a person from each table (we made sure both Mom's were involved) and then everyone at the table makes the dress. After the time limit was up, each girl modeled her dress and my sister picked a winner.
It was SO much fun and everyone was laughing the entire time. It was so interesting to see the different style dresses and improvising trying to add accessories!

We did this at my sisters shower and it was a huge hit...but I warn you it depends on where you are having it...my cousins was at a restaurant and it wasn't as much fun because it was a tight fit and the waitresses were definitely annoyed..lol

I'm honestly not a fan of games - but that's me. What about doing Bridal Shower Mad Libs and a jar/book for people to write their wishes or advice for the couple? Or you could even have everyone write a letter and bring it with them to make a scrap book page out of it to give to the bride.

I recently went to one and they had this game with pearls. The card read if you mentioned the groom's name you had to give the person you told the pearls. The person who had th emost pearls won a prize. I also saw the toliet paper dress game. That was fun. I would definitely do some sort of theme or tie in her wedding colors. Good luck. HTH!!

Re: bridal shower help
My bridesmaids put together this 1st year wine bottle presentation. They each made a bottle for different mile stones during our first year of marriage. It was so cute. They had a poem that they each read a part from that went along with their milestone and decorated wine bottle. Everyone loved it!
Also, they asked my FH some questions about our relationship and then asked me the same questions at the shower. It was kinda like the newlywed game. Again, fun and everyone enjoyed it.

People seriously do this for a bridal shower? I would be absolutely livid if my bridesmaids/mom did this for me. Although I hate camping, so they would have no reason to. But I always thought bridal showers were at places like restrraunts and stuff.

Re: bridal shower help
I had a Purple, Paris theme. My sister found all these Paris themed post cards that people wrote marriage advice on. It was fun reading them afterwards with my fiance. Lastly, we did that corny create a hat out of bows thing since there was an older crowd and we had to. BUT my sister bought this cute vacation hat that we bought the bows on instead of those silly paper plates that people use.

We did a book theme for my BFF's shower, complete with big 'book' centerpieces that had her and her FH's faces photoshopped onto them, and pretty bookmark favors and Barnes and Novle gift cards for game prizes lol.
We also had a game/gift combo...all the guests gota little story about the couple with blanks they had to fill in. All the answers to the blanks were household products (i.e., 'Bob thought Mary was _____' and the answer is Fantastik. Of course the story was better than that lol.) Anyway, when the BP read the story with the correct answers out loud, whoever got the most right got a prize, meanwhile each time we mentioned a product, we pulled it out for the bride. At the end she had a laundry basket filled with stuff she'd need for her home.

Love the pearls idea and the wine bottles for milestones!!
I don't know how many people you are inviting, but I have a friend with a huge family. At their showers they separate the gifts into different rooms or different corners of the room. The gifts are separated by college friends, work friends, family friends, family, etc. To open the gifts the bride will open the college friends' gifts with her college friends watching and everyone else can enjoy the rest of shower. If people want to watch everything they can. It seems to work for them.
HTH!

Re: bridal shower help
Mine was a cooking theme and my mom made CPs out of mason jars with herbs and wildflowers in them. The favors were small glass jars filled with french sea salt. My mom had a recipe card made that matched the shower invites and each guest brought a family recipe and a kitchen gadget for a wishing well. I am really into cooking, so it was so perfect for me.
Can I just say though...I HATE the clear wrapping thing. Like people take the effort to buy you gifts and the bride can't even open them. The bride should take time to open each gift, look the person in the eye and sincerely thank them. That is what you are supposed to do. Its a huge pet-peeve of mine.

Themed wishing well! Mine was a wine wishing well, and I wound up with about 30 bottles of wine and champagne, and wine charms, stoppers, etc. It was great!

I would start out by thinking about a theme. There are lots of ideas on here and on google. Play games similar to the Newly Wed game - the loser should do a silly dance or something like that or the winner gets a prize, the toilet paper dress game, there is also a game where the engaged couple sits back to back, the woman has the man's shoe and the man has the woman's shoe. You read characteristics out loud. Such as, who is funnier? or who is the better driver? The couple holds up the shoe in which they feel is the right answer. The couple can't see each other's answers. This gives the crowd a good laugh. Whatever you decide it will be special because of the love that you have for your friend in your heart!
