My mom and bridesmaids asked me for a list for my shower. (exciting!) But, I don't know who to invite-especially from his side.) His family's list has about 5-6 women that I don't know but FH claims that they are very close friends of the family. Do I put them on the list? Do I put their daughters (teenagers and early 20's on the list also?) I don;t want these people to get an invite and wonder who the hell I am? Help!!!!

I would invite DH's immediate family...and maybe his cousins/aunts, etc? I wouldn't invite people you don't really know...except the ones that DH says are a must...

Why don't you ask you MIL? I know mine has definate opinions as to who she wants to be invited to my shower.

I'll ask his aunt- but she doesn't seem to want to be bothered. She hasn't even come to order her daugher's junior BM dress yet. I've asked 10 times!

hmmmm. I say try to find someone on his side that will give you some good insight, maybe a cousin or someone close to him.

I would just ask him who he wants there. He should know who should be invited and who shouldn't. I don't think it matters too much if you know them or not if they are close family friends.

For my shower, my mom just asked me for a list of my friends that I wanted there that she didn't know. She took care of our family and my FMIL gave her a list who she wanted to be invited from her side...i think that is the best way to do it!

I just went thru thus, I scaled down the list from 80 to 60. I took immediate family, close friends of both sides and also asked FMIL who she wanted there , and close friends.
