Bridal Shower help please!

Hi Ladies,

I'm a MOH for my cousins wedding in March. She lives in florida and I'm trying to plan her shower from here. She does not want any games or activites at the shower, but I want this shower to be fun and special. Does anyone have any ideas how to make this possible? Somehow give her shower a personaly touch?? I'm all out of ideas. Any help you can offer would be great!!

Thank you!!!

NO GAMES?!?

I'm a nerd... but I LOVE the games!! That smells!

LOL, I'm not sure then, it's just going to be a meal I suppose... maybe instead of a sit down, you could do a buffet somewhere do people can get up and mingle and things like that, and sit where they want? Not sure what you've planned already...

Maybe you could make mini photo albums and the bride with each of her BM's, her mom and grandma and FH? ANd pas them around during the meal?

Good luck, that's rough!

I really like the jack and jill (co-ed) showers that people do now, I think it makes the whole thing a lot more fun. I'm not into the games and watching someone open gifts for an hour personally . . . it can get pretty boring. I wish FH was into the co-ed shower idea but he said no way . I really don't have any other suggestions aside from the usual food and drinks . . . the games are usually what you do to break things up a little. Maybe make it more of a fun cocktails and apps type thing? Hopefully someone else has a better idea! Good luck!

At my shower we did a sort of game...it was like a newly wed type thing. My BMs got together with FH and video taped his answers to 10 questions. Then at the shower, they asked me the same 10 questions and replayed his answers after I answered. It was soooo funny and everyone thought it was really entertaining.

Another thing you could do are the panty poem, and the wine poem. Those are fun too!

At the last shower I threw we did a wine tasting. We went to the local liquor store and the guy hooked us up with someone. He bought all of the wine and talked about it and then us girls acted as the servers.

My BMs went around to the guests before I got there, took pictures on a polaroid and then had the guests write their marriage advice on the bottom of the pictures. Then they put it in a cute little photo album. Maybe if no games, the bride could read them all aloud and show the pictures?

I really thought it was such a great idea!

Ooh, not having games is a tough one! I at least like the gift bingo because it makes it more fun for everyone when she's opening the gifts. You may just have to veto her on this!

Other things to pass around to keep people entertained:
I went to one shower where the moh purchased a pillow and fabric marker, and everyone had to write on it advice to the bride for a happy marriage.

You could also do a guest book with polaroids. For my friend's shower, we mailed along with the invitations a recipe card, and then had a guest book so that everyone slipped in their recipe card along with their photo and a few words.

You could also hang from the room a clothesline of the 'lingerie of marriage' or the 'underwear of marriage' - from tiny thongs to granny panties (or neglige working its way up to old lady housedresses)- at least that's some entertainment for people when they walk around.

You could put a cute/funny quote about marriage on each person's plate setting to invite conversation and some laughs.

If you 'theme' the shower (ie a tea party, a wine/cheese theme), you might find decorations, etc. that could entertain as much as games would. Good luck.
