Bridal shower ideas

Okay so this is a two part question:

1. My friend recently got engaged and it seems like it's going to be a destination wedding.
She mentioned she doesn't want a shower or bacherlorette party or anything.
Should I still plan something without telling her or should I try to convince her of letting me do something small.

2. My other question is:
Can you girls give me fun shower ideas.

1. Tea party theme/mad hatter theme
2. All white theme
Anything else???

All ideas are appreciated

Plan something small without consulting her - unless she was ADAMANT about it... If she just didn't want to put people out with the added expense, well, people will surprise her with their generosity...

A theme would be cute.... The all white sounds like fun! Then everyone would be in white and she would totally stand out!

Does she have a house? An apt? Like to entertain?

Instead of a wishing well you could tell people to bring a bottle of wine for her.

eta: with the Fiesta theme you guys could make the ribbon hat out of a sombrero. That's awesome.

well she has a studio. she does like to entertain..ha ha the hat thing would be funny..not sure she was adamant. I mean it would be a small group of girls. maybe around 8-10 so I don't know if we can do a restaurant.??

you could do a cooking theme and send recipe cards in with the invites and start a book for her

you could do a margarita party with quesadillas, nachos n such....

you could do a beach theme and get a place on the water or do a lunch cruise....
side note here a friend of mine already had a house and is all set with that kind of stuff and they did a honeymoon theme, and everyone got her stuff to take on honeymoon ex flip flops and towels, sun dresses and lingerie, and her resort allowed gift cards you could order online for money towards the trip and stuff at the resort like spa, massage, scuba, etc.....
