bridal shower invites - how to address

Is it necessary to put Mrs. Jane Smith ..

I think it looks funny.?? or is that proper??

Is just Jane Smith fine??

I just got an invite and it was addressed Ms. Jane Smith

If the woman is not married, then
Ms. Jane Jones (Jones being her maiden name)

If the woman is married, the 'proper' way is to write it as
Mrs. John Smith

However, I personally would write it as
Mrs. Jane Smith

If the woman was NOT married, and her fiance's last name was Smith and her maiden was Jones, I would NOT address it to Ms. Jane Smith.

I think for a shower its okay to be less formal. I got one yesterday and it was more formal, but it just depends on what you feel is necessary.

I addressed a lot of my cousins guests for her shower (I was the MOH):

Kim Smith or Miss Kim Smith
