OK, im getting married first week of july and my friend [ i mean were not THAT close] but were friendly shes getting married the second week of july... both of our bridal showers are in May, hers is FIRST even though shes getting married later , but oh well
so today i just got the invite to her bridal shower it was an e-vite and also postcards were sent home. i realized looking at the guest list that FH EX was also invited, and who im pretty sure will come. her ex has caused A LOT of problems in the past. shes now ENGAGED, but still kinda psycho and scorned of how things ended ... get over it! if he wanted you he would have married you
but anyways, im CONSIDERING jsut not going to the bridal shower, i want to avoid confrontations, and more of 'her friends' will be there so she'll gather around them like in highschool and create herself a lil posse... and make me feel real uncomfortable
i feel bad, i do want to go to the bridal shower, she is my friend and will be invited to my shower as well as my wedding....
what should I do? Allison [the girl getting married] does not know/ is unaware of the fact that me and FH ex have had serious confrontations.

Re: bridal shower issue - what should i do?
If you're not that close then I wouldn't go. The last thing you want to do is have problems at someone's shower. And you don't want to feel uncomfortable the whole time either.

Re: bridal shower issue - what should i do?
considering your friendship is much more valuable than having a confrontation with the bimboo....what i would do................i would go to the shower keeping my cool and support my friend....the other chick is obviously childish and not very mature.....dont bow down to her level......she has issue that she will have to deal with....i can bet she knows that your invited and is hoping that you dont show......dont let anyone dictate your life and the moves you will make.....question now is...?do you tell your friend of the past issues?.....i wouldnt because then she is going to feel uncomfortable about it at her own shower.....even if you dont stay long show your support......stay a few and then leave....i am sure that she (your friend) will be glad that you came......hey what if the bimboo is thinking like you....not to go...but thats not likely......support your friend....go for a while and then leave....that's what i will do....UNLESS THIS CHICK IS JUST OUT OF CONTROL YOU MAY HAVE TO TELL YOUR FRIEND OF THE ISSUES..... good luck with whatever decision you make

If you would feel uncomfortable, then I would not go. I would instead send a gift. I would also let your friend know about the situation if you feel you need to express your concerns about not attending her shower.

thats tough...if you expect her to show up to yours, id go to hers and ignore the biatch. otherwise, if youre not too worried about it and youre not even that close, send a gift and your warmest regards.

Just thinking about this...does her beinginvited to the shower mean she will also be at the wedding? How will you (and FH) handle that????

oh wow, good point.
I say go to the shower. It shows that you don't give a rat's arse about her. Let her act immature with her little group of friends. You can show off the rock FH gave to you instead of her.

Agreed. Send a nice gift and say that you have another engagement that you must attend.

That was going to be my next question!! I wouldn't go to the shower...just send a gift and say you're sorry you couldn't attend! I wouldn't want to be in that situation either, so I wouldn't go!
