Bridal Shower Mishap

I just came home from a friend's bridal shower. She opened her china from her mother in law, and starting taking things out of the boxes. They unwrapped one dish, one charger, the gravy boat, and stacked them on a table to display as she was opening other gifts. One of her bridesmaids was moving boxes, tripped over another gift, and bumped into the table, and down went the china!! I felt so bad. The pieces were all broken and her poor BM looked like she was about to cry. YIKES!!! I'll be showing off my gifts in their boxes lol!!!

Thats horrible. I will not be displaying any breakable items at my shower.

Yeah, it was horrifying to witness!! Something I liked that I saw at another bridal shower was most of the guests put a picture of the gift (if it was boxed like a vase or china) attached to the outside, so that everyone could see what the gift was without the bride having to open the boxes completely.

yeah I have no intention of opening the gifts, just think how annoying it'll be to pack it up again, pack it in the car, and get it into the house.....

Wow! Note to self: 'DO NOT OPEN CHINA AND DISPLAY'

I am asking my guest to wrap the gifts in clear cellophane so that I can show the gift through the wrapping and everyone doesn't have to sit through an hour of me opening gifts!
