Since my wedding is slowly approaching, my sister has been asking me if I want a bridal or wedding shower. The bridal shower obviously would be ladies only and the wedding shower would be both. Has anyone ever been to a wedding shower? Or is anyone having one? Just curious to know how to prepare for it? Are there games you can play when including the guys?

I have never been to a 'jack and jill ' shower/wedding shower...
I knew I did not want that and I also knew DH would not want that- after I brought it up he had some negative comments about it- but everyone's DH is different and the way the party is planned would have to be different so that the men at the shower would have fun... I am sure it could be a really good time and I would like to go to one

I also have never been to a 'jack & jill' shower, but I heard they are really nice. However, i don't think FH would want one

I wanted a 'jack & Jill' but when we sat down to do the guestlist it wound up being almost the entire wedding so we had to scratch that idea. My FH had no problem going if that's what I wanted but ladies only was easier for my bridal party. I went to a Jack & Jill shower once & it was fun....I don't remember having to sit through the opening of the presents though. They might've done it in a different room or cut it out for the sake of the men...not sure.

I've never heard it called a Wedding Shower, it's usually called a Jack & Jill Shower. I've never been to one but I've heard they can be a lot of fun!! I wouldn't play any games with the guys tho, they're not really into that kind of stuff. If you really want to do the games (I did!) I'd just keep it ladies only and make it a Bridal Shower.

A Wedding Shower could end up being like a repeat Engagement Party if you had one. My daughter just went to a 'Jack n Jill' and said it was just like the Engagement Party she went to for the same couple.

hey well im having my whole family get together at the local park and cook on the BBQ, have water balloons ect. im not into the whole traditional thing. although my wedding day will be very traditional. i just prefer to be with my whole family and have my FH family there too to mingle and get to know one another better. so im having a wedding shower.

I like the idea of a Bridal shower. Since my Fh and I work together, I'm sure co-workers will have a wedding shower for us, because how could they have a party just for me when we have all the same friends at work.

The reason why I would want a wedding shower is b/c we didn't have an engagement party and my family has never met his family. My parents only know his mother. We were suppose to have a small engagement party but there were too many unfortunate events that didn't allow us to celebrate. So we figure maybe this would be a good way to introduce the families before the wedding.
