Honestly, I kind of agree with your friend. I didn't have a professional photographer at my shower, and I got some really nice pictures because everyone had a camera and they sent them all the pictures to me. I personally would rather save the money and put it towards something else. But, it is your shower and if you have your heart set on a particular photographer and you can afford it, then go for it.

I'm not going nuts with professional photography at my Shower either ... If someone happens to bring a nice camera, then awesome! If not, I know my mom has one too ...

I seriously wish someone had taken pics at my shower. I'm a serious amatuer photographer. It was almost a minor in college for me, and I have taken pictures at everyone else's showers and weddings and I was even THE photographer at a family wedding. When it came to my shower people were so used to depending on me that I really did not get a lot of nice pics. I was so sad.

If you invite me to your shower, I will take nice pics
