Personally, I think it's inappropriate. I know we all hate having to write out these TY cards, but people are generous enough to give presents, we should thank them with a personal note. Attaching a TY to a favor means it will be generic, and I think everyone deserves at least a 'Thanks for the toaster. I can't wait to use it...' kind of thing.. That's just my opinion.

i know that we can all be busy ladies during wedding planning, and want to cut corners places, but etiquette and saying 'thank you' is just not one of them. ppl took the time to buy a gift, wrap it, come to a shower, and celebrate...i think a proper TY should be sent to each person. a little tag isn't enough.
my TYs were thorough....'Thank you so much Aunt Sally for the mixing bowls! I can't wait to use them when I'm baking up goodies in our kitchen' or 'Wow Jane, you genersou gift card will help us to buy that nice vacuum cleaner we've been wanting!'
yeah i have to agree that it is unacceptable to not send out personalized thank yous. People expect it and if you dont, it will piss them off! especially the older women.
it gets tossed as soon as its opened but its one of those things you must do regardless!
