bridal shower question

bridal shower question

I have a very important question for all of you. My mom and dad have passed away and I have the best friends (bridal party) in the world. I am so lucky to have them. Well, my bridal party is throwing my bridal shower and I am afraid that the guest list is way to long. So, I was thinking about telling them not to worry about it being a surprise and that they can have it in my backyard so that they could save some money. For me, it's not about having an extravagant party, but about being with my friends and family. I don't want to offend them, though. What would you do?
Thanks!

Re: bridal shower question

I think that is very great of you and that your priorities are most definitely in line. If it's not important to you to do the surprise, I know for my family at least, it was such a relief when I told them that I didn't want a surprise so you may be helping them out by saying it, but really they've 'signed' up to be a bridesmaid because they love you, they'll do anything you'd like them to do so please don't put undo stress on yourself. They may even be having a ball planning the whole thing!
