Bridal Shower question

My sister asked me to give her a list of all the people I want to invite to the bridal shower. So here is my question.

Do I just invite my friends and family members and my fiance's mother and aunt or do I let my fiance's mother give me a list of people from her side that should be invited to the shower? What is the protocol for this? I don't mind if she invites her friends but they barely know me. Would they want to come to a shower and buy a gift for someone they don't know? What is the proper bridal shower etiquette? Thanks

I was thinking the same thing, but having both of my sisters are married, I have been through this twice.
Give your sister a list of your friends that you want to be invited. I'm sure your mom is involved too and your sister and mom are talking. Your mom will invite her friends and family as well as your MIL. Hopefully your sister has been communitcating with her too and asked her for a list of family.

thats what we did for both of my sisters and it worked out great.
