Bridal Shower Question

Bridal Shower Question

Do you think its necessary to have an open bar at a bridal shower at lunch time 11am-2pm?
A lot of places include soda, tea, coffee. Do you think its best to just pay the bar tab at the end of the function rather than paying $20/pp for open bar. Do guests expect an open bar?

I def never expect an open bar at a shower. I mean sometimes mimosas or something like that is fine, but most of the time I don't drink at things like that.

I think it depends on your guests....some of FHs aunts are heavy drinkers and it doesn't matter what time of day it is so for me I may want to lean towards paying per person...but if your guests are normal drinkers I would pay the tab at the end.

I would say no to the open bar. You cold always do a champagne punch if you wanted drinks.

At my shower we had wine and punch and I think that was enough.

What day of the week? Also, the time seems early- and I love wine...but not at 11am lol I think you'll be fine with no open bar (its really not expected at a bridal shower).

thanks for the input everyone...this is good news, i really want to keep the costs down since my mom will be hosting and she is already being beyond generous with the wedding.

I never expect an open bar at bridal showers. I've had that champagne punch at almost all of them though. Thats usually the most alcoholI consume, if I even have any. I never see it as a drinking function

Re: Bridal Shower Question

I really do not think you need an open bar at all.
I plan a lot of events and before a certain time its never open bar. Usually if its a brunch thing I'll do mimosas or bloody marys. But for a bridal shower I've seen punch which I happen to love!
I've also seen red and white wine on the tables...but I think a nice punch would be great.
