So My sister is planning My Bridal shower and asked me if I am supposed to invite everyone on my guest list to my shower? Now I know everyone would not come since I have out of town guest and it's not a coed bridal shower so How do I go about letting everyone know about my registry, or do I have to invite every one to accomplish this. I know I have some family members that want to buy me a gift but will not make it to the shower. I am not sure what to do. What is everyone else doing?

I didn't invite everyone. I invited my family and close friends.

Re: Bridal Shower question?
That is a good question, which I am unsure about as well. My mom has 4 first cousins. She is only super close with one of them. I don't know what to do with that either.

Re: Bridal Shower question?
I don't think that I will invite everyone But How do you guys think that I should go about giving the information about my registry to family that are not coming and would like to get me something? This is so confusing

Re: Bridal Shower question?
registry info should go on the invitation.. they would need to be sent the invite to know where you are registered or word of mouth

guest that are not coming/invited should not need to know about where you are registered..... and if they wanted to know i am sure they would contact a family member or friend of yours to find out where you are registered.

Re: Bridal Shower question?
i just gave the list to my sisters and i took out OOT. also, what i've seen in the past is that the invites had where the couple was registered.

Re: Bridal Shower question?
I'm inviting all the women on my guest list. But I'm not inviting the 'guests' that are female. For example, the wives of male co workers. I know we will get a lot of nos, and I warned my mom about that, but I don't want people going around, I got invited, you didn't get invited?

Re: Bridal Shower question?
You do NOT have to invite everyone invited to the wedding to the shower.
Some people choose to invite just close family and friends. Some people exclude OOT relatives because the shower invite comes with an expectation of a gift, so to send it to someone who you home can't come seems like gift fishing. The other side of this is that you should invite OOT people to show you care and want them there.
It really depends on the budget/intimacy of the affair. The showers I've been to have been around 30-40 women closest to the bride.
Other people you may want to invite but don't need to and can cut off the list: Co-workers Spouses/SO's of male friends Female friends of FH (although I was kind of pizzed when I suspected I was B-listed to my male BBF's now wife's shower, but it depends on the closeness) distant relatives
ETA: The shower hosts convey registry info either written on the invitation itself 'The bride is registered and crate and barrell', or they cna include the insert cards provided by the registry stores. They are meant for the bridal shower invitations, NOT wedding invitations
ETA 2: If you want people who are not invited to the shower to know about your registry, you can include it in your wedding website. People who want to buy you registry gifts will usually search online on weddingchannel.com or on the popular registry sites. You can also have your mom, sister, etc let other family members know by word of mouth. People will ask!

Thanks everyone for the advice, I really appreciate it. I think I have a bit more clarity to the situation now Glad I don't have to stress this anymore.
