bridal shower question-cellophane wrapping

Have u ladies ever of heard of in the bridal shower invite it says to wrap the gift in clear cellophane instead of wrapping paper???

This is so people can see what you got but you dont have to take all the time to open the present

is this not ridiculous??????

isnt that the best part??????

what do you think

I have heard of it but I don't like it. I can see the point, but like you said, the best part (for the bride) is to sit and open all the gifts. But some brides don't like this and would rather spend the time mingling with their guests. To each her own!!

i can see the point of this depending on how big the shower is. my friend spent almost 2 hours opening stuff and me and the rest of the bridal party were busting our butts to help her. that was not fun we had to unwrap most of the stuff for her.

I don't post much anymore, but saw this and had to answer.

I went to a shower that did this. Its nice because 'most' people aside from the bride and her mother and MIL don't care about the gifts.

But, the shower I went to was still 4 hours long. Very boring. You talk, we played a game and thats it.

I agree about the presents being boring. Let's face it, who really wants to see you open presents for an hour? It's not really that exciting. Except maybe for a piece of lingerie that embarrasses you.
