Bridal Shower Reponses

So I sent out my little sister's Bridal Shower invitations 3 weeks ago for next Saturday with the RSVP date being 3 days ago. 2 girls in the wedding party, the grooms sister and the grooms cousin and the grooms mother have NOT even responded to my mother or myself. Am I suppose to ASSUME they are coming? Nothing, no response you'd like they call to say 'of course where coming' and ask if we needed any help with anything.

Am I being unreasonable here for complaining?

I'm so glad you girls think it's rude too! It's a sit down lunch not a buffet. I need to give the owner a head count. They live within a 1/2 an hour to where i'm having the shower so there is no excuse.

My mother is so upset! She even called my sister's FH's mother-in-law during the week to see if her and her daughter were coming and no response back.

Sorry you are going through this. I just can't understand why people can't respond w/a simple answer.

I totally agree! The groom's own sibling, mother and another bridesmaid you'd think they'd be the first to respond. Oh well... What can I do

How tacky....at this point you may call and say something like........_________ shower is next week and I need to get a final head count I know with the summer things get crazy but I was wondering if you were coming? If they seem appalled you had to ask just say ' I would hate to assume and then have to explain to _________ why I never checked to make sure. I'm sure you would understand if it were your shower' That should work but no do not assume anything people will always amaze you

Great advice! Some people are really so apathetic if it is not them getting married or their son or daughter they are not vested.

I took everyone's advice thank you! I followed up with the groom's sister and the verdict was 'It should have been a given they were coming'.
