bridal shower themes

Ok my MOH asked me for my guest list so she can check out places soon to get an idea, she likes to plan everything ahead of time and organize it lol. Anyways she had also asked me about any ideas for themes or ideas for the shower that I like...I have NOOOOO clue, what are some ideas any of you have...AND yes it will be a surprise but she wants some of my ideas.

I really wanted to do a sleepover theme for my MOH - but her mom didn't like it. She & I used to do sleepovers every single weekend - so it would've been fun. Everyone would've come in their PJ's and it would been so cute! She's a huge pajama fan - so we could've asked everyone to bring a gift of PJ's and whatever else..

Just a thought...

Im actually leaning towards a tea party theme, and i saw online a fancy hats tea party, everyone wears some big extravagant hat.

My mom and FMIL threw me a 'garden party' and so everything was flowers and 'Lisa's gardening bingo' and the favors were individual african violets for everyone to take home. I was considering a garden wedding but ended up with the beach so it worked out perfectly.

I just came back from the most amazing shower ever. (weird, i know.) It was at Lady Mendl's Tea salon in NYC. It's on Irving Place between 17th and 18th. Absolutely gorgeous. You walk in and you smell flowers. The private salon we had was covered in flowers, vintage candle holders. We were served a 3 course tea which included salad, tea sandwiches, champagne and dessert. We had the best time. It can get pricy. If my mom wasn't planning a shower with over 60 people I would totally have it there!

I did some research and saw the Milleridge Inn does a tea party also.

We did a 'twisted tea party' - kind of like Alice in Wonderland... finger foods and little sandwiches... and punch and 'Twisted Teas' it was a lot of fun and put together really nice... I'll try to get pics from my PITA MOH!!! She still hasn't sent them!

Re: bridal shower themes

I just planned my sister's shower last year... it was close to Christmas so we asked everyone to bring an ornament and we decorated a tree for the bride. It wasn't so much a 'theme' but it was a good idea to incorporate a holiday into the shower. If you're really into holidays you can have everyone bring a decoration from their favorite holiday. Everyone loved the tree idea and now my sister has lots of ornaments for her first Christmas with her husband!

I know this won't help you but mine was a fall theme but that is because I am getting married in October. I have seen the Breakfast at Tiffany's theme, Beach theme, Tea Party, Garden Party, and then just a basic shower decorated with all the colors of the wedding... not an actual theme.

i'm a big coffee fan so my mom and sis did a coffee theme for me..

the favors were coffee scoopers with chocolate covered espresso beans..
centerpieces were the steel carafes filled with flowers and the prizes for the games were all coffee related - coffee bean grinder, espresso piot and so on...

the place was at palmers american grill - we did brunch - place and food were awesome...

For one of my friends we combines her bridal shower and her bachlorette party.

We had the bridal shower luncheon at her house (her partner had gotten her to stay at her fathers house the night before).

Then we all got dressed and went into the city to Tony & Tina's Wedding.

Afterwards we went back to her apartment and had a sleepover.

It was a great day and she really got to enjoy her guests some of whom she hadn't seen in a really long time.

sounds very nice and fun.

Im not going to combine the two though. I definitely want a bachelorette party without FH's grandmother, all his aunts, our moms and family members lol.
