bridal shower vent

my mom and my sister MOH are starting to plan my shower (wont be til summer but they want to book the place) and i talked about it with my FMIL about my mom looking and asking who she would like to invite and asking how many ppl she thinks will come... she said to me that shes been thinking and wanted to know what i think of having 2 showers... her and FSIL whos a BM would come down for the one my moms throwing but then having one upstate where they are for everyone in FHs family.. now i get why she asks but my mom would be having this as a hall and not in someones house and im glad FH stood up for me - he said to his mom that my mom will be paying for a place to have everyone come to and have fun and it defeats the purpose of having two if my mom is willing to do this for everyone to enjoy.

its just annoying that they wouldnt go because its too far from them (3 hrs) and not the wedding.. now it will be summer and a saturday afternoon which is easier for people... so i just dont get it..

am i wrong to be a little annoyed at FMIL for just pretty much telling me her family wont go bc its on LI???

I'm having two showers- my FH is from upstate and his mom is going to throw me a seperate shower because most of his family would not be able to travel for the shower and wedding.. its a 7 hour drive. At first I was kind of annoyed and streesed b.c of two showers, but then I saw how excited my FH mom is to plan it and I could not be happier-- I would say express your concerns, but be greatful for whatever anyone wants to do for you
