bridal shower woes

My bridal shower is on the 27th, and almost no one can make it - not even my MOH. I know it is supposed to be a surprise, but I really don't like surprises, so they told me about it. Anyway, I am so hurt and upset - I guess that a lot of it has to do with Graduations and things like that, but I am still so upset.

I'm sorry! June tends to be a tough month. People always have gradu ations, wedding, confirmations, etc... No matter whi is or isn't able to make it to your shower, I'm sure it will be great! I know it's disappointing, but keep your chin up.

yeah... my mom lives in Rockland County. So, they are having it at a restaraunt up there.

I realize this might be a part of the problem, as every one else lives on long island.

Don't feel unloved!!

I found out cause my mom asked me a hundred times what weekends do you have off, and make sure you take off for 'grandmas birthday' Geez mom I make the schedule!! Plus i am soo a registry peeker, I admit it, so when i saw stuff coming off..and my grandmother all of sudden out of nowhere starts and keeps talking about the LaGrange inn in Babylon and how good the duck is and she can't wait. WE HAVEN'T been to the LaGrange Inn since my brother made confirmation 12 years ago!!! Hmmmm....I put the pieces together. My mother doesn t know i know though, it would break her heart...

DOn't feel unloved, just think-smaller the party more attention and more involved you can be with all your guests

Don't feel unloved! We are having the same problem with our wedding - if I knew how many conflicts people would have (yes, even after telling them the date months in advance) I would have chosen another month. It can't be helped and remember - it's not that they don't want to be there - they do. It's your shower and your wedding - don't let anything get you down!

Dont feel unloved! June is hard but like the last post said, smaller party, more attention! Enjoy every moment of it!!!

well we have the same problem - i overheard my mom tell my matron of honor only 17 people responded.

thank you so much for your support, ladies. I took a tip and peaked at my registry - SOMEBODY is obviously coming, considering how many things are gone.... but now I am worried about whether or not I should add more. :)

Maybe they're still trying to surprise you? Being that they know you know... they're probably 'busy' so that you can still be surprised on that date because you don't expect your closest friends, and WHAM! They're there.

Hope it's that. lol

When my MOH got married two years ago, only 15 people were there, including her and 6 BM. We felt really bad for her, but she said she had an awesome time. She was happy that it was her best friends and closest family there.

My shower is the same day as yours

Peopel love, you, maybe the invites were just sent out late! and a lot of people are on vacation now.
