bridal shower/invite vent (long)

so my shower was last week. it was amazing. my mom and sisters did a fantastic job and everyone was so generous. FH and i are much closer to my side of the family then his (they live out of state and i've only met them maybe once or twice in the last 4+ years we've been together - other than his mom and dad).

FH's mom came along with 3 women from her side of the family (his father's side couldn't make it, but they all sent gifts)... turns out that one of the aunts (the black sheep of the family) was there b/c they are all friendly again. i was doing my thank yous, went to look for her address on my spreadsheet and realized that she wasn't invited to the wedding! like I didn't even know she existed!!!!!

so fmil went on a vacation the day after my shower so I had to wait until today to speak to her. i was like 'can't we pretend i sent one and she never got it and call after the RSVP date passes and say 'hey, we never got your RSVP'???' (it's NEXT Sunday). nope...she wants me to send it with a note saying 'sorry, i thought i sent this...'

this is totally not my mess up. i feel like such an arse. technically she wasn't even on the invite list that i gave my sister for the shower either! she gave me great shower gifts too so i feel even worse now. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

this! Why should you be the one put in an awkward position? She's ballsy to suggest that honestly.

I would have your FH call or you yourself after the RSVP date and just say hi, was just wondering if you were coming since we didn't get an RSVP from you... and when she says oh I didn't get an invite just make it seem like a huge mistake or that something went wrong with the address.
