Bridal Showers

So Am I correct in wedding etiquette that the mother of the bride is supposed to throw and plan the bridal shower?
I know she doesnt have alot of $$ and may not know what to do?
Any input is appreciated so I know what to do or expect!
Thanks girls!

actually the etiquette was that the bride's mother NEVER throws the shower.

but that was in the past. whoever does it, does it.

ye its not really supposed to be the brides mother bec its like the bride and her family is asking for gifts but things changed. For mine its my Bridal party and mother in law.

Technically it is supposed to be the MOH.

It depends on each situation. For mine, I know my mother said she is paying for it and that the girls can take care of the 'fun stuff' like games, decorations and whatnot. She's taking care of the food, drinks and everything else.

I know that my girls are paying for mine. My mom wouldn't be able to either, it is just too much money with the wedding and all the other stuff that goes with it.

Re: Bridal Showers

Traditional wedding etiquette states the bride's friends throw the shower (aka the bridal party).

the tradition in my family and culture is that the mom throws it, and mine is. my sister (MOH) is helping to organize.

my mom is paying for it.... she feel's weird asking my MOH to pay considering she isn't in a great financial situation. I also warned my mom not to asked my MOH because it gets costly and i don't want to place that burden on someone.
