so, did anyone else who did not have their bridal shower, does anyone worry that they will not get most of the stuff off their registry? at least the most important stuff?
i worry about this constantly. we won't have very much money left over after the wedding and hm between rent and then expenses to just live to finish up our registry with the items we will need to use alot.
i know this may sound selfish, but its something that i find myself thinking about alot.
anyone else on this boat?

i worry about this too, mostly b/c i registered for some pretty expensive stuff. I mean there are some little things on there that are cheaper, but i would rather get the bigger stuff that i need. sigh.

Re: Bridal Showers Woes
i didn't even really register for any crazy expensive stuff in the hopes that it would make people more likely to purchase more... don't know if its working. i figure that there are still about 25 people who have to b uy me gifts still and my registry is still 3/4 un-purchased

Re: Bridal Showers Woes
I was getting super wrapped up in the fact that our pots and pans set wasn't bought prior to the shower (still hasn't been bought either). In my mind it's like a super important gift but like 98% of my registry was bought by the time my shower rolled around, so - I should shut up LOL
I even opened things the day of my shower which I didn't see checked off on my registry, some big items, so sometimes you can't always go by what's coming up online.
However (in re: to the pots and pans) we got a butt load of cash and gift cards. Some people opted not to get a gift or they got something smaller and gave a gift card too. I'm sure that'll happen and you can use that to help buy some items.
Don't worry too much b/c I am sure you will have some surprises come shower day.

I keep worrying that we are spending so much on our wedding and hm that we will be completely broke after. but then my friend reminded me of all the gifts (most likely money) we will get at the wedding. don't worry - i am sure you guys will have everything you need!

Re: Bridal Showers Woes
we already know that alot of the money we get back will go toards paying for the furniture we already purchased, so we won't really have much money at all left over to buy whatever was still needed from the registry

Re: Bridal Showers Woes
I only really worried about getting my flutes and cake server because they matched our theme so well and I wanted them for pictures I was afraid it'd become unavailable (as some of our registered items did on Macys) so I went to buy them myself so I won't be so anxious and they had been purchased the day before!
FH and I have a house but didn't buy many 'nice' things anticipating registering for our wedding but I won't be too upset if we don't get everything or most things we registered for...I guess because we've done without them for so long that it won't be the end of the world. Most everything we registered for were upgrades so if we don't get something, we most likely have a crappy version of it already
Don't worry, like the girls said, people may surprise you. And 90% of people wait until the last minute! And I know you two are going to start a new life and family together but when you break it down, most things on registeries aren't necesities - just stuff we'd like to have. I'm positive you will have a beautiful shower that will include lots of presents and well wishes.
you'll get some cash too

Re: Bridal Showers Woes
Yup! I love everything on the registry. Just yesterday I noticed that our everyday plates that were on sale at Macy's went from $149 to $320. And, we requested 2 sets. I told my fiance that people need to start buying the stuff while it's on sale or else we wont get everything! I also have no idea when my shower is...but, my immediate family knows we registered so I figured they get the stuff while it was much more inexpensive!

since FH & I don't live together, i just registered for average stuff that i alreadyuse every day, like sheets for the bed, towls, and pots and pans, like a knife set, utensils - i don't have any of this yet and my shower is on May 1. I know people have time to buy, but i'm just worried that a lot of the necessary stuff for cooking and basic living won't be purchased. i won't even care if idon't get any of my fine china, as long as i get the more important stuff

i feel the same way! so much of our stuff was on sale like 2 weeks ago for dirt cheap and now everything is back on at full price! i'm super worried people will look at the prices and say '***, what was this girl thinking' and buy something that really isn't necessary!

That's exactly what worries me. I was actually forwarding 20% BBB emails I received to my mom and sister. Did they do anything....no, of course not. They let it just expire. A part of me almost wants to buy the stuff myself while it's on sale. But, then I remember- I'm broke!

yeah, macy's stuff changes SOOOO much!!!!! I hope people do catch the sales since they make such a difference
When our dyson vacuum went on sale from 699 to 399 I called my mom and told her I'd never seen it get that low so she bought it I wish I could do that to all my guests
That was the only other thing that we really wanted since we have two dogs and NO VACUUM. I hate sweeping.

Re: Bridal Showers Woes
i was but FMIL and my fam are the best and has bought pretty much all the expensive stuff on the registry and all that's really left that's big is the vacuum. Everything else that's left are small items. I was worried that we'll still have a lot of stuff left on the registry but FH said if anything, we can buy it himself. i wish i could not worry as much as him.
don't worry b/c you'll never know what you'll get later on!

i am worried about this too. the thing for me is what is left on the registry (it was small to begin with but we got a lot of engagement gifts) is expensive stuff...pot set, luggage, bedding etc. i hope that people dont buy me crap just to give a gift...id rather a gift card that i can put towards the registry gifts that werent purchased.
