BRIDAL STORE RULES?????

BRIDAL STORE RULES?????

I visited (2) bridal salons so far. And they would not let me take a picture of myself in the gown. Is that some rule that the bridal salons live by? I thought it was stupid. Also, I went to one store (Lestans (wouldn't recommend this store to my worst enemy), extremely rude, and unprofessional. They will not give you the style number of the dress. And, they limited me to (3) dresses to try-on Another bridal salon across the street named Allisas (spelling might be wrong) takes the inside tag name of the designer off the dresses. I ask the salesperson, who was the designer? she stated she couldn't tell me. So, of course, I ripped her a new one and walked out the store. I feel I have a right to know if I'm paying the gown.

WOW!!! That all sounds really screwed up!!!

First off..i too would like to take pictures that way i see how i actually look... mirrors can be deceiving!!!

Second... How could they limit you to 3 dresses.. You are a bride searching for the perfect dress.. what is the likelihood that you will find it in the first 3 you try on!

Thanks though for the warning!!

Unfortunately I have heard that some stores won't let you take a picture of yourself in the dress. I guess they are afraid you'll find the dress elsewhere. It definitely stinks though I'd definitely want a picture of myself in the dress too!

You're entirely right about Lestan's! I was in a BP last year and the BM dresses were ordered from there. Every time we went for fittings (with appointments) we would have to wait between 2 and 3 hours before seeing the seamstress cause there was a line of girls waiting to be fitted and they all had made appointments too!

most stores wont let you take pics or even tell you who designed the gown

It doesnt really bother me - its bad business for them - because they spend a lot of $$ paying employees, for their store, electricity, etc...

and they spend lots of time with a bride who tries on every dress just to go buy it online? bridal stores have probably lost lots of money because of the internet!

I do understand how the internet has totally changed things....but i feel like if places didn't jack up the prices so much, and were a lil more willing to work with the brides, maybe so many wouldn't feel the need to go look elsewhere. i'm actually on the gown hunt with my best friend for her wedding and the way some of these people run their businesses is ridiculous!!!

Some places are like that-why? I don't know. You can get the pics right out of the mags so why can't you get a pic of you in it?-Stupid!

from experience going to the bridal stores with other girls, we always take the pictures in the dressing room, behind closed doors, so no one knows.

also, write down as much of the information off the tags in the dressing room also, you may be able to match it up else where..... or if you really like the dress, give the numbers to anther dress store, they all basically work in the same coding
