bridal store=bad customer service

bridal store=bad customer service

I bought my dress at a place where the money is donated to city schools for their art, music and sports programs. Being that the money goes to charity I had to find a place to do alterations. I called a store in farmingdale and they agreed to have me come in to see the seamstress and to get a quote. When I came in they told me to put on the dress and someone will be in to look at it. An older woman came in to the room and asked me about where I bought the dress, I told her the entire story and she replied ' well I can tell you that the alteration charge goes to charity as well'. I was a bit taken back by this so I just let it slide, then she went on asking how much I spent on the dress and said that would determine how much alterations would cost. Now how would the amount I spent on the dress determine that got me but I went on and told her, she came back to me with an outrageous quote, after saying herself that there was not much work needed to the dress. I said to her that that was out f my price range and I thanked her for her time only to have her say to me ' what do you expect, $25 for alterations?' By now I began to feel like she was just putting me down in every each way, so I just replied again thank you for your time, but I was hoping for around $200-$300. She laughed and said that I wont find a good seamstress for the amount of money, and to end it all she told me that she WAS NOT the seamstress, she was just quoting the price! So how would she even know?? So the dresses might be nice, but I have not seen them but when it comes to service, I would not send anyone there, unless they feel like being put down.

That's horrible! Knowing that you're coming in for such a special occasion and that you're a generous charitable person? I wish I had someone to refer you to, but I'm sure you'll find someone wonderful who will give you exactly what you need! F her!

I used Ingrid's in Setauket and they were very reasonable and Cecelia did a FANTASTIC job on my dress. They were really nice there too.

The place is Princess Bridals in Farmingdale. I was not sure if I could put the name of a business in my rant, did not want to take the chance of getting kicked off this web site :) Thanks for the support :)

don't get discouraged, not all places will be that rude. i cannot believe that woman was so mean to you, she should ne ashamed of herself. i am glad you put the name of the bridal shop on here, now more girls will know about their poor customer service beforehand, rather than find out the way you did. you have done a lot of us a favor, thank you! chin up, you will get your dress altered in your budget and you will look beautiful!
