Bridal Stores

Sooooo I searched for a dress for 4 months & I tried on well over 100. I did finally find one! But not without going to almost every store on Long Island I could find. Soooo I thought I would write a little review of all the stores I went to and hopefully it will help someone!

Bridal Suite of Bay Shore - everyone is so nice and helpful here. I actually went here twice and this is ultimately where I bought my dress from. They have a decently large selection and you can find something in pretty much every price range.

Village Bridal in Babylon - the girls that work here are so genuine and helpful. Had I found a dress here, I would have definitely felt comfortable buying it here. I also went to this store two times. Very large selection of dresses in all different price ranges.

Bridal Reflections in Massapequa - people here were very nice. The girl helping me pulled a lot of great dresses out. But I personally didn't like how you and your friends could not go through the dresses as well. Sometimes you need a friend to pull out something you wouldn't normally pick because, who knows, you might end up liking something that you didn't know you liked. Therefore, I suggest going here once you have definitely decided on a particular style that you want and have already tried on other styles and determined you don't like them.

Fantasia Bridal Rocky Point - everyone working here is sooooo sweet! But I just don't feel like they have a large selection of dresses. At least not a large selection of what I was looking for (all lace and no poof) Still worth it to stop in here.

Helens Bridal in Commack - they have a decent amount of dresses. The woman helping me didn't seem to know all that much but thankfully another young girl came over who was much more knowledgeable. Either way everyone here was nice. But all the dresses I tried on were pulled by myself and my friends. They didn't really pull dresses for me or have any recommendations.

Bridal Suite of Centereach - the woman who helped me here was so sweet! They have a lot of dresses and my consultant at least was very knowledgeable and pulled a lot of dresses that I did like. The only negative about this store is that there were a few younger girls working here that were walking around talking about and complaining about each other right in front of customers. Kind of turned me off from the store.

Estelle's in Farmingdale - a decent selection of dresses here. Don't expect them to make suggestions and pull any dresses for you though. We basically helped ourselves the entire time.

The Wedding Plaza in Floral Park - woman helping me here was really nice. This store has a lot of dresses! They don't allow pictures here though, although my mom sneakily took some anyway.

Bridal Elegance in Huntington - well the woman who greeted us here seemed nice. And that ended right there. Woman who helped me here seemed like she did not want to be bothered with us at all. She also apparently knew me since my friends pulled out a few dresses and she responded with 'she won't like that' and put it back. They do have a decent amount of dresses though at a lot of different price points. It's worth it to stop here, maybe you'll have a nicer consultant than I did.

Paradise Bridal Patchogue - I can't say enough times, do not shop here! Absolute worst experience. We received terrible customer service here, the woman actually told me maybe I shouldn't wear a wedding dress, just because I didn't like her choice. And on top of that, they just seem shady. This store does have a lot of other terrible reviews, but I was getting desperate for a dress and thought I would give a try anyway, wrong choice!

I hope this helps someone in their dress shopping experience! Good luckkkk!

This is super helpful! I have to second your opinion on Paradise Bridal - I went through them for a bridesmaid dress i wore 2 years ago and it was the worst experience ever. I even submitted a report to the Better Business Bureau on them! 2 days before my FH's brothers wedding I still didnt think I was going to have my bridesmaid dress ready and was thinking about going to buy something from david's off the rack. And the wanted to charge me over 300 in alterations because of their mistakes (i argued that one down - because I was not paying more for alterations than I was for a BM dress!) No one would ever answer the phones when I tried to call and check in on things. Also, I ordered my dress in November and it did not come in until mid April

Awesome write up.
Thank you so much.

I'm going for the 1st time in 2 weeks to Bridal Reflections in Massapequa and I'll keep this all in mind. :)

Thanks for the write up. Do you happen to know what the lowest price point was at these stores? I'm thinking about going to a couple of them, if I don't find my dress at RK Bridal.

I had the same experience!! Best part of my trip to this store was the welcome at the door, and when I left they gave me a goodie bag with a mini sewing kit!.. In between I felt like I was a bother to the women who were working

Re: Bridal Stores

I am not 100% sure of the lowest price point. My max budget was 2000 and there were a lot of options under 2000 at pretty much all of those stores. I think the lowest priced dresses I saw at these stores were around 1100. But I am sure it also depends what you are looking for. I wanted just a sheath lace dress which I would think is less expensive than a fully beaded dress or a ball gown.

They must have disliked my friends and I even more because I didn't get a mini sewing kit!! haha

Thanks for this review! I'm going to go shopping in the next few months and I'm not sure where to go. This was very helpful. My FSIL and two of her cousins all got their dresses at Paradise-- I'm surprised so many people hate them since they had a good experience. I wouldn't go there anyway though, since it's so far east. I'm going to try and go in more Western Nassau if possible.

I'm just going to my first appointment on Saturday, so this is super helpful! Mind if I ask others to add to this review with other places they tried?

Re: Bridal Stores

I guess this shows that it really depends on what style dress you're looking for and the consultant you have to help you that really changes the experience because I actually had opposite experiences in terms of BS of Bayshore v Paradise Bridal.

I had a horrible experience at Bridal Suite of Bayshore because the woman who helped me told me she only works Saturdays, and did not really know the names of designers or styles since (and I quote) 'it's not like she's the one getting married so it's not that important to her'. I gave her an idea of what I was looking for and she told me after 3 dresses that we didn't have what I was looking for and I should shop somewhere else. I ended up going to Paradise right after that and had a great experience largely due to the consultant who found me my perfect dress. I did read some bad online reviews re paradise so I am kind of worried about the process of getting/altering the dress but the shopping experience itself was great.
