I am trying to select where our BM dresses should be ordered from. Which place would you prefer and why?

I can't really comment much on Burtons. I went there tried on some gowns, they didn't have anything I wanted and didn't carry the designer I was looking for so we moved on. The store itself is a bit dingy but the service I received was fine. I have heard other girls complain about the place but I really have no complaints.
Bridal Elegance - I got the BMs dresses there. The service was always nice, though Phyllis is a bit flakey at times. She has a beautiful store, kind of on the small side and her selection maybe somewhat more limited than others but she can pretty much get anything for you and WILL come in LESS than anyone else price wise. Alterations, weren't the best there. I think it's b/c she no longer does them herself and the seamstress she was using when I used her, was really bad. My BMs are all small. The largest size dress ordered was an 10. Every dress including the Jr. BM had to be taken in and ALL of them were taken in TOO MUCH. I mean to the point that these girls could not zip them up. I'm talking about girls who wear a size 2 and 4!!! It was extremely stressful and it put a damper on the experience. Phyllis did everything she could to rectify it but nonetheless it's stress that B2B don't need. I think ultimately she's going through some growing pains and when she finds seamstresses as good as she is, b/c SHE'S GOOD. She'll be better off.

I vote for Burtons. There is some info about Gownfind in my review. I left out some of the details b/c so many little things went wrong. FM if you need more info.
Phyllis is great and very accomodating. Im basically doing my whole wedding party with her and she got me great prices, gave me great ideas of how to do bustles and what to do with my BM dresses. I also have a BM that has large breast and she took the time out to go over what dresses would be more appealing for her and what dressmakers would be great for her. I guess you could recommend that Phyllis does your alterations you know put in a request. When I went to Burtons I was not impressed with the service that much and they did not have anything in the store for me, not much of a selections. I looked around for what I wanted and just ordered it from Phyllis Im getting my gown from her also.
I'm not sure who has a better reputation but I can tell you that I used Burton's and they were really great..no problems at all..I have only heard good things about them..they have great prices and great service, too. We went there on a whim, to kill time and they were so helpful and spent time with me while I tried on dresses even tho I had no appointment and the store was packed. My alterations were done there, too and those were also no problem. I lost weight right befere our wedding (and didn't realize it!) and they all stayed late while the seamstress took my dress in for an hour..I highly recommend them
