Re: Bridal Suite of Bayshore?
We got our dresses there last month for my friends wedding. I thought their dresses were really nice. The service was good, but i didnt like that they made me buy their bra.

Re: Bridal Suite of Bayshore?
I had my viel custom made there- it came out beautiful. There was a mix up when I picked it up- I wasn't happy about that. They had put my wedding date down wrong and put my veil in storage. Later on I bought my gown from them which came in on time. I did have to wait for 20 minutes for one fitting but overall I was happy with them.

Re: Bridal Suite of Bayshore?
I have gotten my bridesmaid dress there for two other weddings, and no problems at all. It is a pretty place - I did not have luck there with my gown but my cousin-in-law-to-be, haha, who is also on this board, had great luck recently. Definitely stop by and give it a shot.

Re: Bridal Suite of Bayshore?
I have mixed feelings about them... First my RAVE... I fell in love with a dress that not one Bridal shop on LI, Queens, Manhattan, Brooklyn had in stock for me to try on. I even contacted the mfg, but got no where. One day after having lunch at M&S I took a stroll down the block and noticed this beautiful window display. I went inside and figured I would ask if they had the dress...of course not...no one did... Then I decided to look at BM gowns when MaryEllen came up to me. We started talking and I figured...what the heck....I asked her about the gown I wanted. She explained they could do a deposit transfer...(a what?!) They would order the dress in my size and color...when it comes in...if I like it It's mine...if I don't...they keep it as a sample. I was sold right then and there. Figuring they would jack up the price knowing how much I loved the dress...I was wrong...right in line with everyone else. The dress came in and it was beautiful. Unlike another post they did not force me to buy their bras...they actually pointed me toward Mary's which was exactly what I needed. Rants are not so much of mine...hopefully they will not be...I saw the attention or lack thereof with other customers...even noticed the nasty remarks and customer service. Thankfully I have not come across this directly...I am however afraid of alterations just from what I hear from reviews etc, but I'm saying a prayer and keeping my fingers crossed.

Re: Bridal Suite of Bayshore?
For my SIL they screwed up all our BM dresses. There were trains on the dresses and they cut them off without asking first. Then they did different hems, make sure to get hand-hem and not a machined hem. Used black thread on a red dress for the hems. Then for 3 girls they cut the dresses to short, 1 week before the wedding! The store had to replace the skirts to these dresses. My dress was never hemmed properly so they had to do it over 2 times.
As for my girls I watched everything they did. As for my dress the bustle loops were extremely weak, the sides along my waist bunched a bit (not terrible but you as a bride notice it) and when I got it home it was stained.

Re: Bridal Suite of Bayshore?
2 brides warnd me when i first went there not to have the alterations done by them. I planned on taking it to a tailor I use anyway but I asked what my cap would be on my alterations they quoted me 300 for bustle and straps adjusted. I took it to my tailor and he did the bustle, straps and a hem for 50.

I was quoted a cap on all alterations...$125
$300 is rediculous!

Re: Bridal Suite of Bayshore?
well....my dress was wrong 4 times...but I finally got the right one. My sisters dresses (jr bms) were ordered in the wrong size...so we had to send them back to get a new size....with 10 days till the wedding, the dresses are not here....they said they think they are coming in on the 25th.....4 days before the wedding
But you know what, every bridal shop has its ups and downs....dont worry about it!

Re: Bridal Suite of Bayshore?
Ehhh...I went there and thought the service was not up to par. Maybe I was a little spoiled b/c my first dress shopping experience was at Kleinfelds (a whole other world) but anyway. Let me just say, when we came in we had to sit for 20 mins (and we were def on time) listening to the lady argue w/a customer over the phone about pricing on a dress, in not the nicest tone. Right of the bat, I did not like the attitude of the lady, she was rude, kept disappearing, and every time there was a dress that I wanted to try or my Mom pulled one she would say no that won't look good on her. I was so annoyed, but I was there so I tried to make the best of it. In the end it was really just me and my Mom helping me, she too busy was yelling at this younger employee. Unfortunately we did find one Maggie dress that I fell in love with. So..I don't know what I'm going to do. But service is really lacking there.
