Bridal Suite of Bayshore & Lillettes - Mini-review
I had a great day dress shopping today, so I thought I'd share some opinions.
First we went to the Bridal Suite of Bayshore. Mary Ellen helped us, and she was great. It is a really nice store with a large selection. I tried on dresses ranging from $700 to over $2000 - Mary Ellen never asked me a price range, and was bringing me things from all over. I tried on Jasmine, Sottero & Midgely, Paloma Blanca, and Pronovias (more too, that's just who I remember). I really loved a Pronovias dress - it was silk, had ruching on the bodice and a drop waist, and a little flower on the side. It was juuuuust a little out of my price range, and I didn't love it enough to splurge, so we moved on to Lillettes. I do want to go back there when it's time to pick BM dresses, though - it's a really nice store (big and pretty) and they have a large selection, and I think my BMs would like it there.
Lilletes is a little more hectic (things are more crowded together and there are lots of people running around) than Bridal Suite, but they also have a large selection and my saleslady (Lydia) was wonderful. She was so knowledgable - I told her what kind of wedding I'm having, and what things I'm looking for in a dress, and she brought me so many dresses that were great. Some were dresses I never would have picked out for myself, but I figured that she really seemed like she knew what she was doing, and I trusted her and tried them all on. She was right almost every time. The dresses she showed me ranged from about $800 to $2400.
This was my fifth store that I've been to shopping, and for the first time, I found a dress that I wanted to buy. Actually, I found 3! It was a tough time narrowing them down, but really, I was happy to have that problem! They wouldn't let me take pictures until I buy it, but I'm pretty sure that I'll buy it from Lillettes. From what I can tell online, the price was fair, and even if I can find it a hundred dollars cheaper at RK Bridal or somewhere, I think I'd like to go back to Lillette's because I like the people there and they seem like they know what they're doing in terms of alterations.
In a nutshell, if you still need to go dress shopping, I highly recommend both the Bridal Suite of Bayshore and Lillettes!
