OK so I went to the BS this week and found a really nice dress. Silly me didn't write down the style number or any information. I swear it was a Davinci Dress. I 'm pretty sure that was on the label, plus the woman and I discussed all the options of similar colors for bridesmaids. I looked on the davinci website and didn't see anything so I called back the next day to see if the woman wrote it down, they tell me its a Mori Lee dress. I asked her if she was sure since I didn't see it on the website, she said, yes, this could be a dress that was made specially for our store.
So I was talking to another bridal shop (i won't say who though) and she wasn't sure of the dress I was trying to find. Silly me told her where I saw it and she said something about BS ripping off customer by putting the Davince or other labels on dresses when they were made in China and were not actually made by them. They were chargine twice as much money for these dresses as well. She said she had that problem with other brides who were trying to find dresses they saw there and called Davinci and they said they never sold the dress to the store or something of that sort.
I know these people are in 'sales' but would she make up something to that extent? I know she wants my money but i'm curious if anyone has heard anything about this. Both of these vendors are recommended by LIW so I'm not sure who I should trust.

i've never heard of this before. we ordered our bm dresses from them and the tag was correct (the dress was actually on the website ... it was one we asked specifically to see). sorry i can't be of much help.

I know several people who have dealt with Centereach Bridal Suite and I haven't heard any complaints about them. Hopefully this is not true.

That's something I've only read about! Very sneaky and illegal sounding. If you really like the dress talk them down. If they don't budge tell them you know it's a fake!

I am familiar with the BS, and never heard that, but that doesn't mean that it isn't true.... Although no offense to the second place you went to, I don't know where it was, but usually a credible business won't go ahead and bash another business. Good Luck

I agree its really bad business to say something of that caliber and not think im going to look into it. I don't want to speak poorly on either store but now this has put a really bad taste in my mouth.
I know the second place has had a ton of positive feedback on here. The woman there has been really nice and worked with me over the phone to find the dress I REALLY wanted but she's said several negative things about a couple of vendors. I'll probably go there just to try on the dresses but not purchase anything.
I have to bring my mom back and see what she thinks of the dress at BS. She wasn't with me when I looked at it, I just went to BS on whim. My main concern is that I didn't want to spend so much money on a dress. I know that BOTH places want the business. BS did say she'd try to work with me on the price but I don' think she'd really go down too much. I'll probably just shop around and see where I can get the best price.

I got my dresses from there and I am very pleased with them. I can't imagine that being true but maybe you should tell them that is what you heard. I know the owner's niece and they are very nice and I think very professional at least whenever I have dealt with them

When I looked for a dress for my mom's wedding they gave us the right designer but the wrong numbers. It was just backwards! As for davinci - why don't u look on the davinci website - davincibridal.com

I looked at the website but didn't see the dress. The one I like is available in Claret but I didn't see anything at all available in that color.
I did see somethin on Mori Lee thats similar but not exactly the same. I'm just going to have to go back to the store.

That's where I got my dress and I find that VERY hard to believe. My dress is gorgeous and JUST like the picture on the website of the designer it's made by. I don't believe that for a second.

I'm not going to listen to the woman at this place, I probably won't buy anything there either.
I still have a few more places to look at for dresses. I'm hoping to make the decision before the end of June
