Most likely it is. Most hotels are completely non-smoking these days.

Re: Bridal Suite Question
well its a hotel - usually hotels have non smoking and smoking rooms right? b/c the actual room isnt a public space - obviously there would be no smoking in the lobby but i would think that they still offer smoking rooms - i dont know, i just have a feeling i might want to smoke that morning (i occasionally smoke) and i dont want to have to go outside in the freezing cold i just wouldnt want to like set off any smoke alarms
i just wanted to clarify that i dont mean the bridal suite at a RH - i am talking about my hotel room suite

some hotels still have smoking rooms, not all are non-smoking
nicole-i would just find out first if the hotel is all non-smoking. If not then call and ask if the bridal suites are non-smoking and if they have smoking bridal suites ask which ones

Babes, I stayed there on our wedding night and I SMOKED...DH smoked, by BM and her dude smoked, my MIL who came to get us the next day smoked...smoking was done
If I wasn't supposed to, no one called me on it and no one charged me any fees for 'smoke cleanup'....thus, smoke on sista
eta: I didn't ask I just did it...bad me

I didn't use the shuttle. I had blocked rooms for the guests there for the night but in our culture its almost an insult for a relative not to offer their home to visiting family so they went unused. The hotel was pretty nice. The room was MUCH larger than I anticipated. The bathroom is pretty big and the actual suite was as big as some apartments i've rented haha...There is a mini fridge, wet bar and microwave, a flat screen in front of the bed two pull out couches, and a sitting area w/ another TV. They leave a little treat for you in the room too
In the AM there is a extended continental breakfast, which surprisingly (w/ our hangovers) we were able to get up for. The only thing I was disappointed about was that there is no restaurant on site so no room service but there are menus available for local restaurants to deliver to the rooms.

seems to be rare now, but also some hotels let it go, while others are very strict. I had went to a hotel in florida in november of 06 and it was all smoking, then summer of 07 dh and i went back, INFACT when we booked they gave us the choice of smoking or non-smokng rooms. So this would make you think it was smoking. When i got there i lit up a cig and a few minutes later this guy comes to my door and got real nasty with me, one of the employees. I apologized right away, and said i had no idea we cant smoke. He took me by surprise by his attitude but then i got into it with him and somebody else bc i said i booked a smoking room so obviously i was put in a wrong room or something but i didnt appreciate being yelled at since the mistake wasn't mine. This other female employee said that it was actually a new rule that was only in effect for 2 weeks. Of course thats when i got even more mad at them saying then i really dont appreciate being yelled at, i had to explain how i booked the tix a month before and your hotel asked me if i wanted smoking or non-smoking, if rules changed since i booked then they should inform us of this bc otherwise how the h e l l do they expect me to know this, it was their fault for not updating us with this info. Then they tried to like they were doing me a favor by saying ok we'll let it go this time then, but next time its a $250 fine.
LOL sorry i went on but that just annoyed. Im fine with it being non-smoking but if i booked a room that was smoking and they changed the hotel to non-smoking 2 weeks later then its not my fault for not knowing, i was mad at how i was yelled at

yeah they apologized for their employee, although he didnt apologize himself. I don't mind, if he would've said it nicely then that would've been fine, but he just flipped out on me and was so rude. Luckily both times we were there everybody was extremely nice and we still love the hotel.

Re: Bridal Suite Question
that guy sounds like a real a-hole
well i dont really smoke a lot - if i am nervous or excited i smoke - if im drinking i smoke - more of a social smoker - i used to smoke but then quit for awhile and now i smoke every once in awhile but not on daily basis - more like a weekend smoker (which is still bad!!!!) so if i cant smoke its not a big deal but it would be nice to have one while im getting ready - even though i dont want to stink like one
denise and dani did you guys smoke at the reception at all? or did you not want to leave the party? whenever FH and i go to parties we always end up outside smoking - i wonder if that will happen at the wedding?

You'll be fine, in the hotel. As far as the RH, (I may get in trouble for telling this)
I had asked Anthony, my BM, before the wedding about where I could go to smoke during the reception b/c I don't smoke around my family out of respect (big anti smoking people) and he told me that he would handle it. The day of I asked my maitre'd where I could go ie outside, around back, ...to hell...and she told me that if I went into the bridal suite, went to the bathroom and closed the door, she wouldn't tell if I didn't...so that's what I did

Re: Bridal Suite Question
Do you mean the hotel room or are you getting married there and mean the bridal suite room you have for everyone ? In hotel room - unless you request non smoking, you can.

my FH said he sees brides and grooms smoking all the time in the bridal suites at RH's in NJ (he works for a DJ company) so we were assuming we might be able to do that also - it must be hard though! i dont want to miss any of the party but i know im going to want to smoke!

I'm pretty sure you'll be able to...it seemed like she was used to the request. I guess they like to keep it quiet b/c its probably against regulations...KWIM...and as far as missing the party:
1. you'll be so busy you won't go as much as you think, and 2. surprisingly, everyone will be so busy dancing, they barely even notice you're gone
