Bride lied about dress she sold me, what should I do?

I feel so stupid. I saw a Marisa 504 advertised on craigslist.com and corresponded with a bride in NJ several times about it. She e-mailed me pictures and it did look like the dress due to the pictures. I just got it and it's a Lady Roi style 8252, which is not what I wanted. What should I do? I e-mailed her hoping this was an honest mistake.

Oh that is terrible! Hopefully she will agree to give your money back. Worst case scenario maybe you can resell it

First thing to do is file a complaint on ebay for misrepresentation. It is illegal to sell one product and subsititute another. What did the description say? Was there an actual picture posted on the listing? If the dress is clearly not the same as posted you should be eligible for a full refund.

how did u pay for it? If you paid by Paypal, then u can ***** to them and then ***** to Ebay and file a complaint. I had an issue with a seller on Ebay and Paypal tried to resolve the issue. When the issue became irresolvable, they issued me a full credit.

FYI She said this was done through Craigslist, and not Ebay, and therefore she technically does not have the protection that Ebay affords.

That being said, I would email her demanding my money back or the proper dress. If that does not work, then I would try warning other people on craigslist not to deal with her!!

Contact her first and see if it was a mistake... if she doesn't respond or u dont like her answer... file that complaint!!!! That's craziness!

Guys, SHE CANNOT FILE A COMPLAINT!!!!

Craigslist unfortunately is a deal at your own risk system, unlike Ebay.

Basically you post that you are selling something, and anyone interested emails you. You make arrangements to meet, or ship if payment is mailed, and that's that, transaction done.

She has no protection whatsoever in this case.

It would upset me too, if this happened. If she is not receptive after emailing her, then I would consider reselling it on Ebay or Craigslist.

Wow, not good at all, try to see if she will get you your money back once there was no contact or anything thats says all sales are final you should be able to get your money back.
Did you use like AOL Wallet or Ebay or something t obuy it from her because those intermediaries protect you from losing you money in situations where you were mislead (mistakenly) i hope.

Also something like your wedding drss you should always see it in person especially coming form a person.

Contact her first!!!! Hopefully their was a mix up on labeling. If not request your money back and let her know if you do not get a response you will file with eBay! I did this I filed and complained kept every email that this guy wrote to us and after 8 months he finally shipped it to me.
Good luck!!
