Bride on right or left down the aisle?

Bride on right or left down the aisle?

I'm watching 'Who's Wedding is it Anyway?' and there is a debate over what side the bride walks down the aisle when on the arm of her escort, Dad or other...anyone even thought of this?

From all the weddings I been to from what I remember when your walking toward the alter, the bride is on the left side and her father or whoever gives her away is on the right side.

Bride is on the left side- closest to her family

I thought left too. Planner said right and that it was one of the first things she learned when becoming a planner.

I thought left too, but i was at a wedding in october where the bride came down on the right

in jewish weddings the bride is on the right. i think in christian weddings its the left. i can only say for us jews.

Correct! I'm Catholic and we do the bride (and her family) on the left. In Jewish weddings the bride and her family are on the right. HTH!

im catholic and i know the bride is on the left. i also saw a diagram of it in the wedding planner i got from statefarm one diagram had the bride and her family on the left (catholic/christian ceremony) and the other diagram had the bride on the right (jewsish ceremony)

agreed. thats how its been done at every wedding i have been to. i never thought differently.
