Bride/Groom Address Info

Question for you gals that did your own invites already:

1) for the actual outside invite envelope, did you put your full names and address if you are living together at the same address....was it intials etc.?

2) did you do the same thing for the reply envelopes? I was maybe going to get a calligraphy stamp with our address and names but I didn't know what the proper way is for them.

Any sugestions or advice would be greatly appreciated

We were living together at the time we got married.

On the invite envelope we just put our address - no names.

On the reply envelopes we just put my name and the address.

We were going to put both of our names but the woman that was helping us suggested that the proper thing to do is not let everyone know that we were already living together in order to prevent offending some old fashioned relatives. It did not really make a difference to us so we complied.

I wouldn't put initials...I don't live with FH, so for my e-party invites i just put his name and address bc its easier for the responses to go to his house, plus were there more often.

Well i would say you should do it the same way you would address an invite you are sending to an unmarried couple who live together.

Mr. John smith and Ms. Jane Doe
'insert address

hmmm good point, so then put just one of your names on the invite and the address if you think others would think that, but if it doesnt botther you put both...I only put Fh

Wow, thanks so much for the input. I just dont want to offend anyone etc.

We are paying for it ourselves and live together now, so I might just put maybe our first names or just our first name intials and then our address....

do you guys think that is ok?

Hmmm i don't know about just first names, infact i would've suggested putting just last names if anything...Ill tell you one thing, we brides obsess about these things but our guests who get the invites pay NO ATTENTION!!! i sent my eparty invites, and when i mentioned something to a friend she was like oh you had the dove stamps i didnt even notice lol.

You can put Mr. Smith and Ms. Doe.

Also because sometimes things go wrong with invites, they get sent back, you just never know...its good to have your last names on it for those reasons

Living together

Outside envelope, I didn't put our names at all. Just:
123 Sesame St.
Anytown, NY 12345

For the RSVP I put both of our names above our address. So it was:
Ms. Cindy S****
Mr. Kevin M****
123 Sesame St.
Anytown, NY 12345

We both paid for the wedding and I thought it was only right for the RSVPs to come addressed to the both of us.

yeah, we're doing Smith & Jones @ xyz address

we live together, and the RSVP address is our own, since we, along with both sets of parents. are paying for the wedding.

outer envelope: was professionally printed (at the same time as our invitations) with only our address, no names

RSVP: both names in full + address once again, pre-printed by the invitation folk....

That depends if there's anyone coming to the wedding that doesn't already know you live together.... in our case, everyone knows! So it doesn't matter.....

Thank so so much. I think I know what we will do now! You are so right too, we absolutely obsess on every detail and hardly anyone notices - hah. I will try to remember that so I don't drive my self too nutso!!
