So, I have a small bridal party and I love it. But my problem is one of my bridemaids who I want to ask ( i kinda of told her I want her in my party) is getting married the same year as me. She hasn't said anything about the money but I would totally understand if she couldn't be in it. How do I ask her this? I don't want to insult her or upset her at all. I just want a smooth time and no changing later on.... HELP

You could say something like...I want you to be my BM? Wait for her response and take it from there..if she seems excited your good..if she seems hesitant you can add I know your getting married that year too so it's totally up to you
You know your friend better...if the straight honest approach works go for it..otherwise feel it out

I would just start talking about who you want in your party and say I would love to have you but totally understand if you cant and tell her how you feel. Im not having my cuz because money is tight for her so I told her and she was sooo happy I understood!

I'm always in favor of the straight and to the point route - she's your friend, and obviously a close one - she is also a bride so she gets it.
Just lay it all out there.

Re: Bridemaids?
as a soon to be bride being asked to be in a bridal party i found it harder to be the one to say no! my friend totally understood but i think it was harder on my part. so just be honest and shell be happy you brought it up. itll be a lot easier knowing you understand

Re: Bridemaids?
what about sending flowers or a card or something to ask her to be a brides maid, that way she can get back to you and think about it so you dont have to put her on the spot.

I agree. just say it. Your feelings wont be hurt because you understand the situation and I dont think your friend will feel bad. Doesnt hurt to ask! Dont think so much into it!
