I've heard of some bridesmaids carrying a book of love poems with a single rose in it. Or maybe you can do something with fruit instead of flowers.

Is there any particular reason you don't want them to carry flowers? If its an allergy thing, maybe you can go the artifical route... if you don't like flowers, I like the above posters Fan idea

If your girls are religious what about a bible, torah, quoran (whatever book their religion goes by)? I've seen brides carry a bible and rosary beeds too....Thats some ideas.... XOXOXO Kitty

you could always do faux flowers. or if you want to do flowers that are not a traditional bouquet you could do a kissing ball or baskets of flowers. or baskets of fruit.

I went to a wedding where they didn't really have any flowers, instead they had long decorative feathers that the bridesmaids held. It might sound a little different, but it actually turned out really nice

Well.. i love flowers, its juz if am in tight budget so will try another alternative .... i like the fan idea too my BM will be wearing orange dress, any idea wats color of de fan can goes with orge..any picture ...anyone..?
