We are thinking of doing wine bottles as favors and originally was going to do mini bottles and do one per guest, half of the ones on the table white wine and the other half red wine. Now I am thinking of doing full bottles but one per couple.
So my question...
Girls who are doing wine favors, are you doing mini bottles or big bottles and how much did they cost? I am not looking to do labels or anything fancy, I will probably just order ribbon with our names on it and tie it around the neck. Oh yea, and what brand are you buying?

wine favors
I used big bottles for my wedding. But a friend of a friend whose a restaurant owner gave it to me for dirt cheap. Try vineyards & wholesale companies or a local shop.

we are doing large bottles, but i have no clue what kind yet! Def red, but we didnt buy them yet so i'm not sure. I'm not spending more than $5 a bottle though.
Does anyone know of any places that give good deals on any wines from LI wineries? (aside from the wineries themselves, trying to save myself the trip )

I did wine favors for my eparty and did a combo of red and white. I got the wine from Trader Joe's in the city and it was the $3 Charles Shaw aka Three buck Chuck. It was really good!

when you did the red and white wines, did you leave half red half white on the table and let the guests choose or did you hand them to them as they were leaving and ask them for their preference?

Re: Brides doing wine favors
we're doing either yellowtail merlot or shiraz 750mL bottles and it will be one/couple. I did call the pindar winery and they wanted $10/bottle. I went to my local liquor store and it was $7.50/bottle so wineries may not always be cheaper

Yea I read a post on here awhile back saying that the wineries are not much cheaper. I might have to shop around to different liquor stores. My liquor store has wine tastings every Sat so maybe I will stop in there this weekend.

ITA. We were at the wineries 2 weekends ago and asked a few places about favors etc. A lot of them will give a 20-25% discount on a case (and some will do the label) but when the cheapest bottles are $10 it's still expensive. I still find better deals on it at the liquor stores around here. I tend to see the Pindar Winter White on sale a lot for $5.99

Re: Brides doing wine favors
we are doing mini bottles of sparkling wine and they are so pretty and the bottle is frosted. It is about the size of a poland spring bottle.
We paid 2 bucks per bottle and are giving one per couple. We ordered 50 extra just in case the greedy ones get extra greedy!
I just posted this too! I'm not sure if I'm getting mini or reg sized bottles, but most likely im doing a bottle a person.
Just not sure if I should do all white or half white/half red?

For a table of twelve I just put three of each on the table... let your guests duke it out over who gets what!

Re: Brides doing wine favors
I did full bottles of a high quality wine. One per couple. $10 a bottle on average. I am having custom tags made by an etsy designer ($115 for 170 of them).
