okay - I am probably having a small wedding in a resturant that caters and has a dance floor- I cant see having a huge ball gown dress for that kind of venue
what would you guys suggest?
clearer now?

I have not thought about that... But If it so happens that my dress is HUGE and the place is little... I would not mind i think bc that is the dress I want.. besides, i am having tops 50 guest so I will def. have room to walk around...

did you call Vetro's? did you like the way they were set up? what places are you looking for now.
I agree, i woul go a ball gown like Cinderella - but you could still do a very pretty dress - maybe a full A-line...

it doesnt relate to the actual size- I was thinking more too much for a small venue meaning style.
Something low key because it a smaller venue yet still elegant

thanks for remembering

Re: Brides having smaller venue
im confused - why should the size of the venue matter for the dress? If you want to wear a ball gown for a small restaurant, why would that be inappropriate? I'm having a small wedding (>65 guests) and booked at the smallest room at the RH, and my dress is ridiculously poofy beyond belief.

I totally get this. just go with something a little less BAM!
I'm not wearing a ballgown. I don't wanna carry around all that weight and I'm thin now so I'm going for slinky.

Re: Brides having smaller venue
I know exactly what you mean.
We were originally planning a small outdoor wedding and I bought my dress based on that. We decided to go bigger and I felt like my dress didn't really match anymore. I found a new dress to go with our new venue and I couldn't be happier.
You can see pics of my original dress in my album, which I loved but it did not fit with the size of the venue anymore.
I am sad that I have to sell the dress though, but hopefully it will go to a bride that loves it as much as I did.

i loved Vetro's but it was too small for what we needed and we're already having a small wedding! I hope it works out for you guys! Do you mind telling me what other places you guys have looked at? I might have seen them too.. Have fun dress shopping. when you find the right dress, you'll know it - regardless of where you get married.

Re: Brides having smaller venue
I was in the same boat as you. I'm getting married on the beach and have rented out the inside of a restaurant for our reception. I didn't want anything to big and poofy because I didn't think it would work for the location. I've posted my dress. It's a modified A-line with a small train. Very light but yet I still feel like a bride. There are options out there, you just really have to look. I had never seen anything like this dress in magazines. Hope that helps!!!

I understand what you mean , but there are plenty of beautiful aline dresses that you can wear, that are kinda poofy anyway.

Re: Brides having smaller venue
I'm not having a smaller venue wedding but i was on davidsbridal.com today and they have some really cute dresses - ones that you wouldnt consider too formal for say a big wedding at a huge RH.
They had one's that were a little more casual but still white and wedding dress'esq so maybe check that out
