Brides I am in desperate need of your help.....

It took me a while to decide to post this but I figure it could only help me not hurt me. I lost my job about a month and a half ago. My company layed off the entire office except for top management. It was very unexpected and I think I was in shock for a long time. I have been looking for something but as everyone knows times are hard. Since my internet search isnt working and there is so many women on here with so many different careers I figured I would reach out for assistance.

The majority of my background is in mortgages but I have been in school pursuing my degree in social work and have experince in that field also. I would prefer not go back into finance and am looking for a position in the social service field. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

My friend does non-profit social work for an organization called Visions for Blind & Visually Impaired Elders. However, in terms of hiring, they haven't had any job openings. If anything opens up, I'll definitely let you know. Keep in mind that b/c it's a non-profit org, the salary is lower than norm. Most social work positions are low salaried unless you obtained your master's degree. You can also try searching on craigslist for social work as well as http://www.nyc.gov. My sister recently got hired for JP Morgan in a financial position. You also browse through their website to see if there are any openings. I know you mentioned you didn't want to head back into the finance field but social work is a bit harder to come by these days. Best of luck with your job search, I'll cross my fingers for u!

My agency *might* be hiring soon.......it seems we may be getting a lot of cases coming in and they are going to need more workers to cover.
