Brides living in DC/NOVA- HELP!

Okay, as some of you know, my dress shop has closed OUT OF NOWHERE! Supposedly they set up arrangements with other boutiques in the area to take care of the remaining balance, but those other boutiques said 'Nope! We're not helping!' So, my dress is getting shipped directly to me....ugh! Well, so its set to arrive in about a month or two and I had a few questions. Who is a reputable seamstress that you are using for your fittings? And how far in advance do you do your first fitting? Thank you! Thank you!

There are two seamstresses (Angie and Estelle I believe) that are constantly discussed on the DC knot board...you may want to try to post there for info.

I am getting my alterations done at Rosalins Bridal (Falls Church, VA). I love Rosalin and the shop but she is over charging me for alterations big time so I wouldn't recommend her.

My first fitting was end of April for July 9 wedding. That is a bit earlier than most I believe. I think the average is around 6-8 weeks prior.

you're in Centerville, right?

I'm pretty sure that my sister is having her BM dress done by someone my family has been going to for a while - I'll get back to you if that's true, and get you the info.

I also have used a seamstress located in a drycleaners for two BMs dresses and a few formal dresses and have been impressed with her. SHe's in Arlington. FM me if you want that info too.
