Ok well i don't know what to do 2 out of 6 girls, are over weight and i don't know what to do about getting dresses for them. The place we went to last night had no dresses for them to try on. And trying to envision what they would look like is tooo risky. Are there any other girls who have overweight BM's and how AND where did you go?
PLEASE HELP

Re: Brides maid dresses
I had the same problem 3 of my bms were a little overweight. Two of them squeezed into size 12 (which in reality are like size 9/10) There is nothing you can do. Which really pissed me off! I wrote a post a long time ago on this matter and a lot of girls have the same problem. Unless the girls are like a size 8 or 12 than theres nothing for them to try on. The women at the bridal store made my sister try on a dress that was a size 20! shes not even a 20 maybe a 16-18. When she tried it on it was swimming on her!! I'm sorry about the rant. I really know how you feel its very hard to envision a dress on someone.

Try David's Bridal...they have dresses in all sizes and you can try them on. I got my dress and my sister's (MOH) dress there.

Re: Brides maid dresses
the place i went to in patchogue was like that, centereach had more of a variety, but they just dont get those much larger sizes in. I would make sure i picked a dress from alfred angelo or Emme that you think will look good. the bridal store will order the sample Thats what worked for me. good luck!!

Re: Brides maid dresses
Designers like Alfred Angelo would be perfect for you. As far as place go to try on...I don't know. Most places don't give much of a selection as far a sizes go. Best of luck to you!

Re: Brides maid dresses
I've been an 'overweight' bridesmaid several times and I can tell you from my own experience that there is really nothing to do. There are hardly any places on the Island that offer a selection of sizes for BM dresses. I can tell you though that the best experience I ever had while trying on BM dresses was at the Bridal Suite in Centereach. Their staff there was very nice and sweet and never made me feel uncomfortable trying on a dress that was a bit snug or didn't fit right. I liked their staff so much that is where my BM dresses and wedding dress were ordered from.
