What kind of thought did you give to your dress.....meaning.. did you find yourself picking a dress that was more 'conservative'..older?? Not quite sure how to phrase that....LOL!!! also.. are you wearing a veil?
Just curious.
I had been married before.. .and I HATED my whole wedding ordeal. It was HUGE.. and I really knew like 20 people out of 400 there.. I was 19, had ZERO help planning this event, picked the 3rd dress my mom showed me and said it was good enough cuz it was cheap.. $350 bucks. I had to pay for a lot of the wedding with the money we got cuz my inlaws backed out of the deal... so there went the honeymoon. Anyways.... when I get married again...It will really be like my first.. as it will be what I want.. not someone else, and with people I know...LOL
I have some beautiful dresses in mind, just not sure if they are 'age' appropriate.. if that makes sense. I also dont know if I want a veil... but I love them.
I'd love to see what some of you are wearing!! :) Thanks!

Re: Brides pushing 40... and over .....
I'm 40, but this is my first marriage. I'll post some pics of my gown. It's basically a traditional wedding gown, although I didn't want to get tulle or poofiness, not just because I'm older than your average bride, but I'm also a lot taller, and it would look silly on me. I'm wearing ivory as it was more flattering, not because I feel that I shouldn't wear white. We're also having a siightly more restrained wedding than a lot of people, but that's more our taste than a specific result of our age (my FH is also 40, and this is his 2nd marriage.)
I can't wait! I never really wanted to get married much before I met my FH, but now I can't wait.
Like you said this is about what you want, so pick the dress you want and that you look good in. My friend is over 40, getting marrried and has a better body than anyone i know in their 20s... she's wearing a VERY lowback couture dress and looks amazing.

Re: Brides pushing 40... and over .....
Hi! Do over here. I'm 45 and my FH will be one week shy of his 50th when we get married this June (my 2nd and his first). I also hated my first wedding. I remember looking at my album and really didn't like my gown, veil, shoes, everything. Hmmm....maybe it was because the marriage was doomed (LOL!).
I am doing things so differently now. I am also very excited about the planning and the wedding, although I do not have the energy I did when I was in my twenties since I now have a child, a house, a puppy and a full time job. I'm wearing ivory gown but it is simple and I think very sexy. I wasn't going to wear a veil but I went to my fitting and tried on a simple long cathedral length veil and loved it. I am also more confident and comfortable with my body and don't sweat the small stuff as I did when I was younger. So, yeah, I'm doing it the way I want this time. It's your day and you should do it the way you want.
Yeah.. im glad to see women that are not shying away from wearing something 'conservative'.. Your dresses are BEAUTIFUL. I am thinking something along the lines of sexy yet traditional.. meaning long and pretty :), but a full on train. I should post a pic of my old dress...LOL. it was so 80's.... hahaha I had some pics saved of dresses I love, but lost them.
Also , I was at a mall this weekend with my GF and we saw some BEAUTIFUL prom dresses that would make awesome BM dresses and for pretty good prices too!..
Im going to come back and post some that I like here in a bit.

I was 39 for my September 06 wedding. I wore Demetrios 9596. Its an off the shoulder gown with a long train. Train was detachable.

I'm 44 and this is my first marrige and the second for FH who is 50. When I went looking for my dress, I tried on several differentt styles. I went with what suited me and what I felt comfortable in, I feel in Love with my dress the minute I put it on. I have pictures in my album....

Ive looked at your dress and it is BEAUTIFUL.. I love it! I normally thought I wouldnt want a 'lace' look , but I saw one like yours at Davids Bridal and thought it was just fabulous. I lke yours better cuz its not strapless. With a good bra, it was show the girls nicely not too much of course!! LOL.

Aww, that's so sweet. My son is 11 and he will be walking me down the aisle. I love your gown! By the way, your babies are soooo cute. I just got a yellow lab, my Layla. She is 4 months old and such a handful but we love her so much.
