brides that have already put together & mailed their invites....

..... give me your BEST advice!!

i am putting together my invites tomorrow night with the help of about 6 of my friends. does anyone have any good advice about how to go about this process, how to make it less stressful, or how to set up a good system when people start RSVPing?

I did my invites by myself, I like for things to be my way so it was easier that way! But as for the RSVP's I made a list in excel with everyones names and just had a column for the # coming.

didn't some people number their RSVPs in case guests responded but forgot to put their name? I thought that was a great idea also

Make an assembly line so each person adds a piece to the invite, with you at the end, so you can make sure each one is perfect.

I am a fan of numberingin pencil, the back corner of the RSVP card, just in case. If you make a list, by hand,or in excel, you can number each guest and then you can add them as a yay or nay and how many when they respond. One sheet for all info is great. Actually if you uploaded all your guest info, this site has a great excel sheet you can print out and use!

I numbered mine. I don't trust my family!
But we have 3 sets of Jr/Sr dads and sons who didn't specify who they were. So far that has helped.

ETA: We have excel sheets too.

I numbered my RSVPs and made an excel sheet with the RSVP #, their names, and a yes and no column. I have a box nesxt to the PC that I keep the RSVPs in when I get them. Every night when we get an RSVP, I put the # of people coming in either the yes or no column, and then I put the RSVP in the box. That way I know that I am not missing any.

This is a GREAT idea! and I bought an invisible ink pen to do it as some of the girls here recommended.

aside from that - i would give one task to each person. make it like an assembly line. one person cuts one person glues one person stuffs etc...

I put them together with only me and FH- I just did it like an assembly line thing with me and him.

It went fast- only took about two hours to put 115 invitations together and to have FH lick all the envelopes

But honestly have a sample of how you want it done so they can copy your sample.. also make sure that you number the RSVP cards so you know if they don't put a name then you'll know who it is by number.

ok this is what we did

i set up my dining room table with everything in the order it had to go in the envelope

my envelopes were pre addressed so i set them up in the order of my excel spreadsheet so i knew which number RSVP was going into which envelope ( #1 went to Mr and Mrs Smith ) then i CHECKED off Mr and Mrs Smith

i pre assembled some of the stuff, like I tucked ALL of hte RSVP cards under the RSVP envelope flap FIRST

THEN i separated each pile into piles of 25. This way if i did 25 invitations and there was ONE direction card left over, i knew that i left one card out and had to check the last 25 envelopes

i also made a few extra which worked well bc a few came back for wrong addresses or damage and i could just address and send out a new one!
