Brides that have been/going to Tahiti....

We're looking into tahiti (probably bora bora & moorea) for our honeymoon & i would like to know what price range we should be expecting...we want the over water bungalows, etc.. (the works)

also, which travel agencies did you use to get the best prices?? i live in queens so if you have any queens/nassau/ or nyc recommendations that would be helpful....

one more question: what is the weather like during september?? is it a good time of year to visit??

thanks!!!

There was just a review on tahiti yesterday that provided a ton of info. I am also thinking about going there as well, and you are looking at around $8,000 for the two of you. Sept is supposed to be a very nice time to go there. We will be going late Aug to early Sept - but we are still deciding between tahiti and hawaii...

We spent about $10,000 for 11 nights. I had gone to at least 5 different travel agents and wound up booking through honeymoonislands.com. Their prices were the best I found for what we were looking for, but if you're flexible, you may be able to get a good package deal. I went in September and the weather was beautiful. September is in their cooler, dryer season. It was still plently hot so I can't imagine what their hot season is like.

We are going in November and got a great deal for 11 nights $4300 for the both of us. We are using skymiles to get to CA and we are only in an OW bungalow 1/2 the time. We used a travel agent in CA. Forum mail me if you want more info.

We are going there on a cruise because of this, at least on the cruise it includes everything. (except drinks) I think it is either Royal Carribbean or Princess that is offering a great deal .

Our trip to Tahiti in June 2001 was about $7K for 12 days/11 nights. We stayed in overwater bungalows the entire trip. On Moorea, the Sheraton Resort & Spa, and Bora Bora the Pearl Beach Resort.
