Brides that ordered BM dresses off the Internet - ? for you

Hi -
I'm considering ordering the bm dresses off the internet - my question is where did you girls get measured? Can we still use a dress shop for measurements and alterations? Do you know or remember what they charged? Any help would be appreciated.

my girls got measured at a bridal salon, and had their alterations done by a seamstress (outside the salon - my MIL did 4 of of them, the other two went to a local tailor)

I was the MOH for my friends wedding and she ordered all of our dresses off the internet. Go online to the manufacturers website (or do an internet search) and get the size chart for the manufacturer. Have the girls take their measurements and order the dress (we actually ordered ours one size bigger if we were borderline just to be safe). When the dresses came in we went to our own seamstresses for alterations.

i did the same - saw the dress in a shop - went to the designer's website and used their size chart & measured the girls. The alterations were done in a bridal shop nearby.

I did the same. Two of my girls tried a dress on in the shop. They all sent me their measurements and I ordered from Netbride.com. All dresses came in three weeks early and were delivered to the correct addresses.

In my case, I have two girls in Maryland and one in New Jersey. They will all get them tailored near their houses.

They seemed happy with the results. The price was a bit cheaper. If the measurements are borderline between two sizes, I would recommend going up to the next size. Easier to make something smaller then to make it bigger.
