I am a Russo's bride, 12/10/10 actually and i was in the same predicament as you. Need a nice lobby to take pictures etc. All of the JFK hotels are not nice. i found the Sheraton LaGuardia east and the lobby is really beautiful and the rooms are nice too. Plus they have suites where as the JFK airport hotels do not. I would check it out

My son and DIL got married at Russo's and stayed at the HIlton Garden Inn @JFK. The hotel is very, very nice and my DIL took pictures in the lobby with the families and bridesmaids which came out beautiful. The girl at the desk even let her hide in the back room while Peter (groom), the ushers and me got into our limos.
We had a very good experience there.

Problem here.... the hilton got some pretty bad reviews on trip advisor and they have bedbugs!

UGHHHHH

You know what every place has bed bugs these days...even the Waldorf Astoria had them...so it is hit or miss with any hotel you choose (sad isn't is?). I'm sure there are bad reviews, but every place has bad reviews and good reviews too, maybe we were lucky because we had a good experience.

Im a travel agent and hear these things everyday!

I just never needed a hotel room near JFK which is why i was asking opinions on here....

I need to make sure my family is staying in a nice place! I might just check them all out in person and go from there!

russos recommends the hilton garden in... the sheraton looked decent online - i think my best bet is to go to each one!
