brides who went dress shopping - audience?

My mother and I were under the impression this was a mother and daughter thing not let's have a party and go dress shopping thing. I am going the first week in april and i have two appointments a day for three days straight.

I have said yes to my sister in law (bridesmaid) to go to one appointment with me and my other bridesmaid (fh's niece) to go with me to another appointment on a different day. I have heard from var. people my future sister in law (my fh's parents passed away when he was 8 then 13 and his sister raised him and she is the mother of fh's niece/bridesmaid) wants to go.

Should i invite her to go with me on one appointment? Am i being mean not inviting people to go dress shopping with me? I just thought it was just me and my mom. Help... thanks

same thing happened with me, i didnt expect to have a bunch of people but it happened...I invited my mom of course, and my dad, moh, then invited FMIL and then my moms best friend came too-shes more like family to me than most of my family and my mom said she wanted to go and i was glad she did. It was weird how i didnt think about it much at first and then all of a sudden i had all these people

But you know what, its great to know there are so many people who want to be a part of this with you and share these things with you...It shows how happy they are for you. I thought it was crazy at first too, but there are people who dont have that so i was just happy to have so many people who cared.

It can get crazy hearing opinions from so many people, but it can also be helpful

I went alone...it was on a whim and I found my perfect dress...i read somewhere that you should go to at least one appointment alone...that way you aren't influenced by other opinions...

I went just with my mom because that is how I wanted to do it.

When we went for BM dresses at the same store (with just my MOH and other really good friend), I tried the dress on for them -- so we could see what the BM dresses looked like next to it.

Do what you want. When people wanted to go with me, I just said 'no, it's something I want to just do with my mom, sorry.' Everyone understoond.

I only went with my sister (MOH) and I am glad it was just the 2 of us...first of all it was a blast... a nice bonding experience. 2nd of all, the more people, the more opinions = more stress = harder decision. And for me it was important that I only go with someone I am super comfortable with because I'm a big girl and din't wanna be seen trying to squeeze my but into dresses a million sizes too small

I went with just my mom. She really wanted it to be only the two of us. I'm not finished shopping but I'll still conitinue to just go with my mom because it meant that much to her.

First I went with my mom and my fiance's mom. They drove me nuts! My mom loved every dress I tried on! Then my fiance's mom was cheering me to wear anything I love. That just made trying on dresses whirl of blurred thoughts and confusion. I just could not tell what I 'loved' and I think I still have trouble with this! I guess I haven't ever found a dress that I love..

Then I came alone the second time. I just felt better being alone and being able to look at everything without a second opinion. But I still haven't found a dress that I 'love.' But I can be happy with whatever I wear.
