Is anyone planning an after party? If so, what are you planning and where? How much 'planning' are you actually doing - or will it be more like just telling everyone where you're going after the wedding ends?

Yes- FMIL rented a house for the weekend and we booked a shuttle from the hotel to the house for an afterparty
She is just getting some wine and beer and snacks

i had a daytime wedding (ended at 5) and did not have an afterparty.
i had to wake up at 6am that morning to start getting ready ... i was pretty exhausted afterwards and was happy to just relax with DH in the hotel

We are having our after party at the hotel where we block our rooms. We will tell people by word of mouth or maybe mention it on the accomodation card.

Our wedding was 1-6 so we did an afterparty. We rented a conference room at the hotel and had finger foods catered in (fried ravioli, chicken fingers, chicken wings, etc) and had brought some chips. We dropped off all the stuff (minus the hot food) a few days before.
It was very well worth the extra money- all together we spent an extra $600 to basically have another party! (We did a cash bar). I would highly reccomend it! I felt like our wedding was 12 hours long!

Yes!!!! Its going to be 1-6..im going to do a local bar around where im getting married or the hotel .....its earlier that way so people dont have to travel that far

our wedding is ending at 5 and we are having am after party at the bar in the hotel where all out oot guests will be staying.

I'm debating this because I figure I would just be exhausted at the end. Also I am not doing hotel blocks. Not sure if I could party in a hotel where I only booked my wedding night.
