Brides with divorced and remarried parents - who is walking you down the aisle?

Brides with divorced and remarried parents - who is walking you down the aisle?

Our ceremony is in a church, and I originally thought I'd have my dad and stepfather walk me down the aisle. I'm close with both of them and thought it would be sweet. But now I'm thinking I might just want my mom, since we are SUPER close and she's helped me through a lot in my life. I feel like this might be a nice way to honor my mother in a special way, and then I would still have the special moments with my dads during the reception for our dance. That's the other thing too - I feel like every other parent gets that special dance moment at the reception, but there's really nothing for the mother of the bride. (And having a mother-bride dance is not something I'm interested in either. Lol) I don't want to make the decision yet, but I'm just not sure how I want to handle this part of the wedding. Is anyone else struggling with this? I'd love to hear some other ideas or suggestions :) TIA!

I have the same situation going on. I decided just to let the dads walk me down the aisle at church. An idea that just came to mind for both of us-- dad's can walk you down the aisle halfway or three quarters and then mom can meet you and walk with you all the rest of the way or she leads and dads are behind the two of you? This also depends on the width of the aisle and all of those details. Just thinking and typing out loud with this.

I might still do the mother daughter dance-- bit then that's 3 parent dances for me?! lol. Not easy being a child with divorced parents right?

Lol!! I was thinking it was too much with the dancing too - that would be three dances just for me alone! I'm not sure what the width of the aisle is - I think it's on the narrow side if I remember correctly. There was also the idea of walking with the dads at first, then meeting my mom halfway and just have her walk me up to the aisle... But then is it awkward if someone is just standing in the aisle waiting, and then where do my dads go after the switch? I'm obsessing over it, I know - but this is just what you do when you're trying to make four different sets of parents happy! Lol!

My friend recently got married. Both her parents are remarried. She had her mom and dad walk her down. Good luck!

My parents are divorced, but neither got remarried. I'm just having both of them walk me down the aisle. I'm super close with my mom, and if it wouldn't offend my dad I would probably just have her do it, but he would be really hurt if I left him out of it. So....both of them it is.

I'm having both of my parents walk me down the aisle (They're divorced, not re-married). I originally wanted to keep it traditional and have just my dad, but I am closer to my mom so I decided to include her too.

A friend of mine who is close with both her dad and step-dad had each of them walk her half way.

It would be a nice way to honor your mom. I feel like the mother of the bride and father of the groom don't get much time in the spotlight since there isn't anything special just for them!

I am not close with my dad at all/ My mom will walk me down and we will have a mother daughter dance.

Having both parents sounds nice but my mother won't do it......so never mind.

I think it would be sweet if it's just your mom. My parents are divorced but I am so close with my mom, so I am making two of them to walk me at the church.

How would your dad feel if you didn't have him walk you down the aisle? My parents aren't divorced, but I know for a fact that my dad would have been extremely hurt if I had my mom walk me down the aisle instead of him.
